The Right Tent For The Right Kind Of Adventure

We're car campers in a Rivian R1S, usually building out a full basecamp with an awning, lounge tent, and kitchen for longer stays. For our shorter trips though-when we just need to roll in, set up, and get some sleep-the North Face Wawona 6 has become the ideal setup. We already love our Gazelle T-Hex Overland, but the Wawona 6 fits perfectly into the "lighter pack-out" side of our system. Setup is straightforward and fast (about ten minutes with two people), and the structure feels more refined than most tents in this size class. It's tall enough to stand in, the ventilation is excellent, and the front vestibule makes the whole footprint feel bigger than it is. We paired ours with the Wawona XL ground tarp, which extends the vestibule into a small outdoor room-great for muddy shoes, dog towels, or a dry coffee spot when the Pacific Northwest drizzle kicks in. On our last trip, we ran it beside the Kammok Crosswing awning off the Rivian, creating a covered path between vehicle and tent. It's a small thing, but it makes camp life smoother. For anyone car camping with dogs or a mix of gear (coolers, chairs, induction cooktop, projector, etc.), this tent strikes that balance between comfort and agility. It feels built for people who want quality and space without dragging along a full expedition rig. In short: well made, thoughtfully designed, and perfectly suited for car campers who build their setups with intention.

I Would Absolutely Buy This Tent Again!!!

I have used this tent for the past three or four years and it is great!! Very roomy, plenty of head space and room for two full size cots. Once I learned to set it up, it's up in less than 15 minutes. The design really helps keep it dry even if am setting it up in the rain as there is no rain fly! The front vestibule is huge and has plenty of room for my two chairs and table...which is where I have the coffee maker for early morning coffee in bed! The back vestibule is great for gear storage or other non necessities. The two drawbacks are that the big side windows open from the outside of the tent and some water has pooled toward the vestibule, causing a drip. I used an extra pole for the latter to keep the material taught allowing the rain to run off. On the former it's just not that big of a deal, as I prop the vents out on top and leave the front vestibule 1/8th of the way open and she has plenty of ventilation. I have also closed the whole thing up and stayed toasty warm! Dr. J. Seriously I have a PhD in Camping!

    Cold Tent!

The tent is a cold tent. It only be ok for summer.

A Really Great Tent For The Warmer Weather

Impressive tent, easy to setup and and very high quality. However the front screen needs as option to close because it gets cold really fast and easy.

Once You Get The Hang Of It, It Doesn't Take Long To Put Up

First time putting it up took my partner and I over an hour! By the 4th time, 15 minutes tops. A WONDERFUL tent.
