Great Technical Jacket For Ski Resorts
Very happy with this jacket after four days of skiing in variable conditions. Here are the key attributes: 1. Warmth - it's pretty warm; not the warmest imaginable jacket but I can easily get away with a thin base layer in 30 degree conditions. When the temp plummeted to zero I wore a couple heavier base layers and was still comfortable. I love the ample coverage over your chin and mouth, which provides great wind protection on top of your balaclava. 2. Coverage - Jacket does a great job sealing in the elements with hardy and easy-to-use velcro straps at the wrists, a powder skirt, and a functional hood that fits around a size L helmet without constraining my neck. 3. Pockets galore! And they are big. Only a couple slight issues: - water-proof zippers were a bit hard to open or close the first time I wore the jacket, which was zero-degree weather. I didn't notice the issue later on when the weather warmed up. - the cuffs don't mesh too well with my gauntlet-style mitts, especially if I'm layered up a lot underneath. Basically both the jacket and mitts seems to want to be on the outside.

Great Product But Could Use A Couple Of Improvements
I like the jacket for downhill (lift) skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb: - The hood covers the entire helmet and stays up. I like to ski with my hood up when it's a bit cold. - The big, wide collar to zips up to cover most of my face even when wearing a thick face covering. - It has appropriate insulation. You need extra layers underneath when it's cold but it should be quite wearable for spring skiing with just a shirt on underneath. - Pockets are where they should be and the right size. Some suggestions for improvement: - There is no place to attach a whistle which would be close to the mouth. The zipper pulls where I would normally attach a whistle are solid and not useful for that purpose. This is quite important when skiing a big mountain resort like Whistler/Blackcomb. There really needs to be a place to attach a whistle near the mouth. I may get a little loop sown in some place on the jacket. - The inside chest zipper pocket should be on the inside of the insulation rather than the outside. This would keep the phone and other electronics warmer. - It would be nice if the collar was just a bit higher, maybe by a centimeter or so. Not a big deal. Overall I am very happy with the jacket so far.
