This is a solid and well-crafted knife, comparable in quality to knives costing many times more. As a former Army medic I can appreciate the rescue features as well. The blade is razor sharp and I haven't yet had the need to sharpen. It took a little practice but I can now easily and smoothly open with one hand, left or right. I am so impressed with this knife I just ordered the 2.0 version to keep in one of my cars. Only caveat, I've seen some demos showing how the safety belt cutter isn't very effective. That may, in fact, be true, but the serrated edge of the razor-sharp blade is more than up to the task. This is only a good knife for crossing border into Canada which I do a lot of and where many knives are banned and where no knife can be carried for the primary intent of self-defense. The rescue and safety features of this knife help legitimize it.
