Great Fit And Functional, Ventilated Design
This helmet has an incredible fit. I'm happy with the large openings in the front to vent hot head air. I feel comfortable and safe with the coverage around the back of the head.

One Drop And It’s Trashed—warranty Won't Help.
I really enjoyed this helmet until I accidentally dropped it from waist height. The internal MIPS cradle snapped at the adjustment point, and since it’s integrated, the helmet is now unfixable. Even though it's marketed for rugged mountain bike use, Smith denied my warranty claim, citing that "dropped" items aren't covered. If you buy this, be aware that the internal plastic is surprisingly brittle and the 3-year warranty has major loopholes.

Internal Pad Velcro Does Not Stick
The pads inside the helmet don't stick well to the helmet itself. the velcro just seems very poor. I have managed to get by for about 18 months now but with a lot of frustration. After significant workouts they just fall away from the helmet when you take it off. This means I have had to re-attach them multiple times and even nearly lost them when out, having removed my helmet for a period before returning to my bike. When they move while biking or while placing the helmet on my head it can cause discomfort from the sharp velcro scratching my head. Now I just accept that the velcro inside the helmet will regularly start to scratch my forehead until I find a replacement helmet. The visor is a nice idea but again the velcro does not stick in place and so it fell off and got lost a while ago.

Life Saver
I bought this helmet for its comfort as I needed to wear it all day. Just recently it literally saved my life. I was cycling on my Penny Farthing bike when I was hit by a car and knocked unconscious. I don’t think I’d be here today if I wasn’t wearing this helmet. I will be buying another Smith Helmet for sure.

Best Helmet I’ve Ever Owned
This lightweight helmet fits me very well. The helmet is true to size and the adjustment system allows for a custom fit, even when I add a thin stocking cap for cooler temperatures. The shell is durable and the Mips system is a plus. The adjustable visor is also a great feature. Best helmet I’ve ever owned.

Faulty Chinstrap Slips
First good, got a medium at 55cm but after wraring the webbing no magter how i lace the chin strap slips out of place and gets so looe it wouldn’t do its job if I were to crash. I bike to work for 20 years so dont think it is a user error or issue as i have a smaller female face and headZ

Strap Doesn’t Work
Chin strap constantly loosens itself when properly adjusted and threaded making protection impossible.

Versatile Helmet
Light, technical helmet good for everyday riding and longer workouts. Well ventilated, good fit. Matte color is a clean look.

Very Uncomfortable
This helmet is extraordinarily uncomfortable. The straps are almost sharp, and the size adjustment system is harsh. On the plus side, it vents well and has pretty good coverage

Love It / Hate It
I have 3 engage mips version one helmets. Perfect fit for my melon. I bought another as a spare. It is a version two. I love the version one, the version two is ok. Smith? Why can't you put tge version / revision on the product model? BE AS ADVERTISED PLEASE! Products like helmets and shoes need to fit the anatomical shape of our bodies. When you change the shape of your product you should state it or at least put a new model revision on the end of the model name so customers know something changed. You did the same thing to the forefronts years back. I have a couple of the original forefronts that i love, and a newish one that i hate. If you make a geometrical change to a helmet you should also differentiate the model name and #.

Worth The Price!
Love the adjustable visor and the ease with which you can alter the sizing! This makes it practical to use the same helmet year-round - whether you're wearing a thick beanie in January or just a buff in July.
