Like most things Sea to Summit, this product is innovative, useful, well designed and actually works. My other Ultra-Sil Nano Pancho has protected me, my pack and my shoes from getting wet in torrential Telluride fall storms. The kind that are more frozen than not and nothing like snow.

Got it for hiking the El Camino in Spain-worked great

This poncho packs to half the size and the weight is about 10% less than any of the inexpensive ponchos that I have used in the past. I'm more of a weekend warrior, so I tend to hit the trail when weather forecasts are fair, but I always want to bring some kind of rain protection. I like ponchos because they cover my pack, which also allows more airflow and ventilation. I don't know that I will ever use the tarp function, but I like that this poncho has eyelets for use as a temporary shelter.

I bought this poncho because it was super small and light. It fit into the pocket of my pack's waistbelt. I intended to use it on the Camino de Santiago in Sep-Oct. During training, in July and August, it was great. It kept me comfortable in several light rainfalls. However, once in Spain, the conditions were different. On day 2, I faced torrential rain for hours on end, accompanied by high winds and temperatures in the 40s. Under such circumstances, the poncho was of little use. My arms were mostly exposed, as i used trekking poles, causing my sleeves to be soaked and allowing water to wick up into my torso. Similarly, my lower legs were exposed. Bottom line, my core body temperature dropped to 94.6 degrees. Stage 1 hypothermia. Two weeks later, I was hit with another storm. The wind came up very suddenly and I was unable to get the poncho situated over my pack until another hike came along to help me. After this, I dumped the poncho and bought a rain jacket and pants. Bottom line: it's great for warm weather. When the air temperature is less than about 75 degrees and the rain is accompanied by wind, it is not the preferred solution.

Excellent poncho. Used on very next hike. Got surprised by rain. Very easy to put on and put away

This thing is great! I no longer need to bring a heavy rain jacket jic for summer in the Sierras. I’ve only had to use it as a tarp for shade so far and it performed perfectly. I did wear it as a mosquito shield for a while too. No rain yet but I have no doubt this will keep me dry enough for the majority of showers we see here in California.

I bought this poncho for a trip to Patagonia, Chile and was really disappointed with the performance. I used it during a light off and on drizzle, and by the end of the day my clothes and pack were soaked. I am not returning it because it will make a nice lightweight tarp when I am backpacking this summer, but beware of purchasing it expecting that it will keep you dry.... I have tons of Sea to Summit products and love all of them - this one just fell a bit short of expectations.

I love this tarp/poncho . It’s lightweight and it’s big enough to cover my backpack and when used as a tarp it does cover most of my one person tent . I definitely recommend it.

Bought prior to thru hike of Laurel Highlands trail. And uded once in heavy rain. Pros: light weith and compact, covers body and pack/torso. Cons: not easy to get pack/back covered solo, a buddy would help. When adjusting to cover side snaps came undone and hard to get snap back while wearing. Not sure how comfortable would be using it as a ground cloth for cowboy camping

Very light and compact . Works well and keeps you dry. Arms can get wet around wrists and I found the hood slipping down in my eyes often . Sometimes when it’s windy hard to find the right place to pull over your head

Bought this a few years ago, barely used then one day the snap broke, now my expensive poncho is pretty much useless.

No rain gear selection is impervious to sweat but this did a great job at allowing me to mitigate it some thanks to being able to vent it out some. It also kept the backpack dry in down pours!

Easy to put on, even while wearing my pack. I love it!

It’s ultralight. 7 ounces(with stuff sack) by my scale. I don’t have to carry a pack cover or rain jacket. It fits over my 65 liter pack. Kept me dry in serious rain. I had great ventilation while I hiked. Good coverage for me. I’m 5’ 9”. Bottom hits me at just below the knees. Served as a tarp to cook and eat under. Set up with trekking poles and guy lines. Love it!

This poncho is true to size and is great for covering up your person and pack. It covers your face from rain, but does not cover your view. I would purchase this again.
