I have been wearing the Scarpa Crux shoe for about 10 years now. This is a fantastic shoe that is great for everyday use, mountain biking, technical canyoneering, hiking, and of course scrambling. I always have a new pair in the box so I never have to go a day without them. They fit awesome. I am size 11C and the 44.5 fits perfect. No break in necessary with this shoe.

On my sixth pair of scarpas & couldn’t be happier! Size is always perfect & very comfortable right out of the box. Great shoe for hiking and running around town.

Best general purpose hiking shoe I have ever used. Second pair of these and will buy again when this pair wears out... Great for rocky trails, weatherproof enough for light snow, flexible enough to jog on trails if you are in a hurry.

Not a big fan of these approach shoes… they are more of a hiking shoe then a approach shoe… and they haven’t stood up to the abuse, I got them in Jan and here it is aug and I’m already looking for a new pair. Many of the stitches and seems have broken apart and the rubber has lost its bite. Soloing 5.9 in these was pretty sketchy to much movement and I don’t trust them, they don’t edge well. I definitely won’t be buying these ever again

This is my second or third pair of these. They are more comfortable, but have less structure, then the La sportiva Boulder X. I wish there was a shoe that fit as well as these scarpas, and was a little stiffer

I’ve had 4 pairs of these over the years. Just bought my last pair about a month ago. Great shoes. Very comfortable. I’ll wear the soles out before the shoes wear out.

I am a fly fisherman and wanted a shoe built for light hiking that has excellent wet traction. The Scarpa men’s crux are comfortable out of the box and do not have a narrow toe box like several trail shoes I tried. They breath well and do not make my feet hot and sweaty which is the downside of ‘waterproof’ shoes. The Megagrip soles provide solid traction in and out of the drift boat. I have not used them yet for hike in fly fishing but they seem to strike the right balance between comfort and support.

Each year I buy these shoes for my husbands for his birthday. He is picky about shoes. They are very durable, comfortable, and diverse. Not just for hiking. Also great for adding an orthopedic support.

Haven't tried any other approach shoes but compared to my 4 year old tennis shoes these are pretty great. Used them scrambling through talus fields and approach trails at Devils lake, and the rock there is pretty slick and these felt solid.

I actually use these for work on roofs and ladders and the grip they have in wet conditions is outstanding. They are very comfortable, providing good support and all day comfort. My only minor complaint is that they are a tad narrow on the toe box. Super great shoes that I would recommend to anyone. I give a 3 star durability rating simply because I haven't had them long enough to know.

I am a solid 42.5 in almost every shoe. Never buy wide or narrow in any other brand. This is a solid shoe but runs narrow in the toebox for me.I am hoping the shoes will stretch and get more comfortable over time.

I bought these a month ago for smoother approaches, but have yet to wear them outside the living room. They lace up easily and look good in the mirror while I flex for my dog. I feel like I have extra grip on the walls of my stairwells (my wife is less than happy about the extra rubber marks left behind from the toe rand). Great shoe. 10/10

Bought about a month ago and still loving the feel. Sizing is a bit strange as I had to order a 34 and I’m a size 10 normally but they fit and feel great.

I really love this shoe. It is a perfect mix of style, comfort and sturdiness. Very versatile: good for short hikes and for rock scrambles. I hike in the Cascade mountains and climbed to the top of Mt. Stuart in these shoes. The soles are very grippy, giving you more confidence on the rocks. Highly recommended!
