Size and convenience is very important when packing lite. Great product for the price.

Got Only 1 Trip's Use From It.

Very disappointed. Used it once and it worked fine. Next trip a month later, couldn't get a drop of water through it. I read that I should soak it overnight, but it didn't help. Summer trip, so it did not freeze. I can't afford to buy one for every trip, so I'll look for another. If there was a zero rating, I'd give it that, so I'm giving it a generous 1.

If you are searching for the best filter for a great price, stop searching and purchase this. I've used this filter to drink water from lakes, rivers and cattle troughs over the last year. I do recommend using YouTube to learn the proper water bottle hack to help you on your endeavors.

Dependable Filter

Bought two of these, and just used them on a 3 day backpacking trip. Worked great and as advertised, it’s a little small, but that’s what you get with the mini filter and it’s meant as a weight saver. There’s a few options of how you can use this filter. You can directly connect the filter to a smart water bottle (probably works with other bottles too) to drink straight from the filter. You can use the included 16ox bag and filter the water into your smart bottle (my preferred method), or you can drink directly from the 16oz bag. We used it at our base camp, but I wouldn’t suggest using it this way as you’ll be at the water source for at least 30 minutes trying to fill up your bottles and bladders. Would recommend a larger filter system and reservoir for campsites, this one is for filtering water while hiking in my opinion. I would buy this again, it’s a great product, and I only knocked 1 star because I had a really hard time filling up the 16oz bags past 2/3 full which made the filtering process take longer.
