I’ve never had Solomon shoes, but I knew the brand was good and needed a good pair of waterproof trail shoes to walk/hike part of the Camino in Spain. These shoes were amazing! They gripped well, are lightweight, and were comfortable. We walked several miles for four days (my feet only hurt some the last couple of days because it was so much walking, not because of the shoes). I walked in them some before our trip to break them in; no blisters at all. I can’t speak to their waterproof feature since it barely rained on us during our trek. Only thing I would change would be that I think I’d like laces rather than the pull elastic feature, but I’m sure the elastic is better for being waterproof. Excited to keep using these for regular hiking in the states!

Tread Lasts A Long Time If Not Used On Pavement

Excellent grip, really comfortable, and works well with my narrow feet. To protect the tread I only ever use these on trails, I never take these on pavement. And doing this I noticed very little ware on my tread even after a full year of using these. Definitely my favorite trail running shoe yet. I run downhill on rocks and mud in these and keep my balance.
