I bought this shoe and have run on our local trails- soft dirt, rocks, roots, and gravel. The Genesis fits great for my wider toebox (not too big). It offers great support underfoot- protecting me from rocks, yet still feels cushioned for when I hit the last miles on gravel or pavement.
