I bought a pair and have worn them out, buying my second pair. They are dressy enough to wear around town. My favorite pair for walking on sidewalks. They are roomy enough for my flat feet. I love the extra toe protection and grip on the sole, at my age, these are important.
Been a Soly customer since well forever. Want to buy another couple of pairs. Cannot get them? Help?

I've had two knee reconstructions and have Achilles tendonitis, these are by far and wide the most comfortable and sturdy hiking shoes to wear, I'm in my third pair. My only small complaint is that they only last me about a year, but to be fair I wear them every day for walking. Go half a size up if you need insoles.

I bought these because they are gortex/waterproof and I live in the PNW where it’s wet all the time. The design on the back of the shoe flips up water and gets your pants SOAKED.. even if I’m wearing leggings and my pants aren’t touching my shoes. Even if it’s not raining but the ground is wet! Would NOT recommend if you live in a wet area.

I spent a long time trying to find a replacement for my old Salomon lace-up hikers--these are just great! So comfortable, study, love the old-fashioned laces--really dislike the new system on most other shoes. In a world with so many micro-specialty hiking shoes, these are absolutely perfect for long walks over pavement, gravel and rocks--I do a lot of walking and need something that isn't such a specialty design. These are just great all-rounders! Really perfect for all day in museums or walking while traveling. Perfect shoe for many activies!

I’ve been wearing the ELIXIR ACTIV GORE-TEX shoes for some big hikes in the Yukon on rugged, uneven terrain, and they’ve been absolutely fantastic. They’re super comfortable right out of the box, lightweight, and surprisingly durable given how much I’ve put them through. The waterproofing is legit — I went through wet trails, mud, and soaked brush, and my feet stayed completely dry every time. The grip and stability have also been great, even on loose or rocky sections. Overall, these have become my go-to hiking shoes. If you want something comfortable, waterproof, and tough enough for challenging hikes, these are a perfect choice.

I used these shoes for my multi day mountain hike and was impressed by how comfortable and sturdy they were. They performed perfectly during the first several warm days of the climb and on the final descent. Very lightweight, stable, and supportive, with excellent grip on all surfaces — rocks, sand, and mud, leaves. One note: the sizing runs slightly larger than marked.

I use these for work at a garden centre—- typically walk 12-15 K good support and waterproofing excellent.

Wore these hiking through Ireland, kept my feet dry and comfortable. Offered a lot of support walking miles through the national park. Would recommend. Wide, run a little large I felt. Would have preferred a half size smaller but didn’t have time before I left. Put inserts in to help with the sizing.

Overall a nice looking hiking shoe with substantial tread for good traction. Fits a bit larger/looser than the size I normally wear with Salomon. No break in time needed.

I usually go up 1/2 size in my in my running and hiking shoes but I had to return because these fit big to me. Overall very comfortable for the time I had them.

Purchased these, along with the Ultra Flow gortex trail runners for a trip to Ireland. Wore these on our more rugged outdoor walks and hikes and they performed great. I like to feel the arch in my shoes and I need a wide toe box. Salomons check those boxes for me. I also have a pair of Salomon hiking boots but I find I reach for these more and more when I hit the trail. Light weight, water proof, arch support, wiggle room for the tootsies... Couldn't ask for more.

These are very comfortable from the get go. No rubbing, no anything! Shoes run long. I had to size down a half size. Only complaint is, even though these fit ,they "look" long on my feet. I don't have high volume feet either, so the loose fabric on to of the toe area "pops" as I walk. I hope this goes away.

Great shoe all around! I’ve worn these shoes hiking in the Rocky Mountains with slippery conditions. Great traction! I wear them day to day now as well because they are so comfortable with a supportive footbed. Slight chunky heel for fashionable day to day use but appreciative of this feature when hiking rough terrain. Fits true to size. Worn with hiking sock.
