I’ve had a lot of Solomon’s and these by far and the most rugged and comfortable ones I’ve purchased

Previous model was good. I experienced some stitching issues on both boots which Salomon warrantied. The new model is more comfortable. I think the laces are better and will stay tied better than the previous model. Only thing is I wish they offered a more solid green boot.

I shouldn't have been surprised because Salomon generally suit my feet but these boots were comfortable from the start. They feel sturdy and secure and yet are lightweight. I chose the wide because I like a roomy toebox because I can get problems with my smaller toes.

I had the previous generation. Unfortunately they ripped at the toe box. But I’m really impressed with the latest version. The toe box has been reinforced, new colours added, and overall these shoes feel great. I use them for a mixture of terrains found in the British countryside from country lanes to chalk downs and so far they’ve overcome every brook, hill, and bridal lane. 10/10!

With a month of nearly daily wear, it may be a bit too early to tell but here are my initial thoughts: The boot is roomy and accepted a Currex medium profile insole while still maintaining a great fit, I ordered my brannock size. I had reached out to CS about the sizing for insole prior to ordering but they suggested I order my brannock size and a pair sized up to choose the best fit (I didn’t, and luckily it worked out). I would say the boot runs large because of this. So far, I am satisfied with the boot overall. Unfortunately, these are no exception from the “flip flop” sound they make while walking others have complained about. The sound doesn’t bother me too much but it is noticeable. The laces also seem to want to untie easily. The boot sinches down with the laces to an even firm grip and feels great. They are very lightweight and seem to have decent grip on wet rock. We will see how they hold up but overall I am happy with the purchase for daily wear on trail, rock, gravel and woods for my job.

A lot of hiking boots don't work because of their rigid conformity to a foot the shape of the boot. I feel like this boot fits the conformity of my foot. Its not bulky, but built right in the right places. I will buy a couple more, same boot, different colors.

Great hiking boot with good grip. Had someone ask what boots I had when doing some scrambling.

Fit great with excellent comfort and a real rugged feel with each step.

Mostly ok but makes a flapping noise on the upper and not particularly wide for a wide fit

I buy Salomon due to the narrower fit. These are not to bad other than around the toes. They could fit a little tighter for my narrow foot. Other than that the quality seems good.

This is by far the most lightweight and comfortable shoe I've had. Very good price for the quality.

I've been hiking with these X Ultra 5 Mid's for about a month so I'd estimate I have well over 100 miles on them. This has given me a pretty good opportunity to develop some opinions on how they perform. As my first mid height hiking shoes I knew I was trying something a bit different. I had a few pairs of the low cut Ultra 4's and a pair of the Ultra 5's and frankly, thought the 4's were more comfortable. Well, you can through all that experience out the window because this latest pair of Mid's has blown my mind. I really feel like the shoe is just an extension of my feet. There is a level of comfort and support that makes these the best hiking shoes I've ever owned. They fit incredibly well and while I miss the way the low cut 4's and 5's could be cinched with a single pull, there is something to be said for lacing these mid's up nice and tight. The firmness of the construction of these shoes gives you great confidence over the rockiest of terrain. The soles have also inspired confidence tromping over wet leaves in a rainy April. I also love the support my ankles get from the these shoes. I think I've found the shoe I'll be buying over the next couple of years. I'll probably pick up another pair a little later this summer as I go through them after 4 or 5 months of heavy duty hiking. I couldn't be more pleased with these shoes.

My favourite shoes so far I bought them a couple of months ago and they’re super comfortable and they’re super sharp looking

Super comfortable! I've purchased salomon shoes for the last 4 years straight and absolutely love them! I always plan to keep them just for the trail but they end up my daily walkers!!!

Very pleased with my Salomon boots, I’m a size 8 and I ordered a size 9 which fit perfectly.
