I started buying Salomon walking/hiking shoes probably 15 years ago because I was experiencing pain along the sides of my feet. They solved the problem. Not long ago, I bought a pair of Salomon boots, and I bought these shoes a few weeks ago. Both shoes develop a strong, mildew-like smell when they get wet. I leave them in the sun to dry when they get wet. I have even started pulling out the insoles and using baking soda in the shoes. I am wondering what has changed. I have started wearing my older shoes again since this problem started, and they don't smell. I think it's a problem with the newer shoes, but I am not entirely sure.
