My First Over The Ankle Hiking Boots.
I've put a lot of mileage on these boots. It provides good stability around the ankle and has excellent grip on scree and rocks. I bought this May 2021 and have been wearing them most weekends during backpacking and hikes up the Colorado mountains in the summer and early winter. The suede has protected my feet from abrasion multiple times. It repels water and is breathable as Salewa claims, but last winter water started getting in after wearing them on back to back winter hiking on snow. I rubbed mink oil and sprayed DWR after and that solved the problem. These are great boots, well built for the price. I recommend this product.

No Break In Needed!
Bought these to replace my 13 year old salomons. I typically get heel blisters, espeically from new boots, but nothing with these! Took them out on a ski resort hike for an archery competition the first weekend. did two 2200', 4+ mile hikes and had no issues. One was in the pouring rain. Only got wet from wicking in from my socks. Toes and soles were bone dry.

Better Then Expected
Bought about a month ago put about 7 miles on the first day with no pain, 11 miles the next weekend. Around 50 miles so far an they feel like they started broken in. Amazing amount of support and the gortex is 100% waterproof. I have no regrets with this purchase. The price seems high but the boots quality and comfort are very high.

You can't get them to fit exactly like you need them. Your head locks, your toes have room. Just like any boot, they have their limits to the feet they cater too, but the inserts they come with offer a good degree of adjustment.

I bought these boots a few weeks back, no break-in time whatsoever. The lace to toe work great, I had problems with pain just above my toes, from wearing boots for over 20 years. I don't have that pain anymore due to these boots I am able to customize the fit just right. No more knee pain. I walked down Pajarito Peak and back up to my ATV at night with no pain or problem and didn't loose my footing one. Great boot, I highly recommend these to anyone doing serious hiking off trail. I want to upgrade to the Mountain trainer for the monsoon season. Money well spent when most of your life is spent on your feet. Will definitely buy again. Keep the front line strong.
