Good Lure, Weak Hooks!

I bought this lure pack a couple of weeks ago in an attempt to catch some peacock bass here in SW FL. So far, no peacocks, but the largemouth bass have been crushing it. I actually caught two bass on one cast, one on the front hook and one on the rear. Sounds great, but there is a problem. The hooks do not stand up to this action. After 4-5 bass, at least one and usually several hook points are bent outward to an extent that they will not hold a fish that bites. After the first trip, I have made sure to bring a pair of needle nose pliers to bend the points back. That's a solution, but a quality lure from a quality manufacturer should not require this level of maintenance.

Best Popper

This is a great popper to use over submerged grass, around docks, and around pads. This bait flat out catches fish. If you aren't catching fish, you must be fishing in a puddle because this bait always will draw a strike.

This Product Works Great

I like to use topwater lures early in the morning to catch shallow water bass before the sun pushes them deep. The Rebel Pop-R series works great, especially when the fish are looking for a more finesse bait.
