Some Small Quibbles.

These are overall pretty good shorts. There are two minor concerns keeping the elusive 5th star away. 1st is the thickness of the material. It’s definitely durable. The breathability and drying suffer. Not sure the vents do much if anything. 2nd is the odd shine the material has. It’s seeming to dissipate with washing and time. Perhaps a cosmetic thing, but enough to bother me. As to positive traits. Great fit, stretchy enough for almost all activity, and the cargo pocket with dual zips is well thought out. The built in “belt” prevents wardrobe malfunctions, without being too obtrusive if you use a normal belt and loops.

All Around Best Shorts

I've only had these shorts for a few weeks but I've tried them out for running, hiking, and just regular casual use around the home and in town and they've fit been a great all-around pair of shorts. My running shorts have flimsy pockets I don't really trust and my casual shorts aren't very stretchy or breathable for outdoor activities, but these shorts bridge the gap with solid pockets, solid stretch, and solid breathability. They're really the only shorts you need! The length is a personal choice, I wear the 12 inch because I'm personally a little old school and like the longer length. I also enjoy the mud and sepia colors.
