Unreliable!
I bought the 4000 btu unit 1 year ago and it rarely works. This unit is in our blind that I take my daughters to during youth seasons. The couple of times we need it in cold temperatures it will not work. Very unreliable product!

Ok, Not Great
I tried out the 4,000 BTU Heat Hog and walked away with mixed feelings. First the positives: It’s a well-built piece of machinery. It’s compact and easy to transport. The item is designed to run off a 1-pound propane bottle, which mounts directly to the unit. The included base holds the propane bottle, and therefore the base, securely. The amount of heat it provided seemed reasonable for the size of the unit. It was hard to tell, as I tested the unit in August. That said, I don’t think the 4,000 btu unit is really useful. It doesn’t seem to give off enough heat to keep a person warm. I could see using it to warm frozen pipes. However, since it’s propane, I wonder what kind of CO levels it gives off, especially given that there’s no discernible open flame. The instructions advise not to use indoors. The downside is the lighting procedure. It lights with a piezoelectric chip. The lighting process takes 30 – 60 seconds to engage and required both hands to engage. The instructions were confusing, and it took me several tries before I could figure out how to light it. All in all, I would consider this in a larger unit, but wasn’t thrilled with the amount of heat this unit provided.

Does The Job.
I bought this for supplemental heat in my Polaris Ranger and for the boat for winter fishing. Way better heat source than I expected. Definitely recommend.

Great Product
This is a great product. I used it in my breakfast nook area and out on the deck. It’s small and portable so you can easily take it with you. The size is ideal; it’s very ligntweight. I feel more comfortable using it outside because of the propane. It would come in handy if the electricity was out or for a camping trip. This heater could really be useful with the cold weather approaching. It gets very hot and is super easy to use. I would definitely recommend.

Portable Heat
Let me start off by saying that you cannot go wrong with portable heat! When it’s cold it’s cold and when you want to get warm there just aren’t enough blankets! I can’t wait to use this in the winter months!

Sturdy And Convenient
Overall, the heater is good because the materials are sturdy metal, but uses plastic so it is no so heavy. Considerably, it heats up quite fast and can cover a good distance. We had a backyard event last week, and we did not feel cold. However, I would not suggest to this indoors, especially if you got carpet. Getting the propane tank was a bit annoying, so you might need to have a few back ups for the winter.

Gets The Job Done
This is pretty much a personal heater. It gets the job done and does what’s intended for it to do. My only complaint is that the actual heating part is very heavy, if you don’t have a strong propane can it runs the risk of tilting over.

Mine Might Need Some Repairs?
I was excited to try this heater out. It was too hot recently to use it, but I finally was able to open it tonight to see it. Unfortunately, mine was not having good luck with the pilot light. I think it turned on the very first time I pressed the button but then I couldn't get it to light again no matter what I did with the button. The spark was visible but no pilot light. It was super easy to put together, and I'm definitely hoping it will work next time I try it. It's lightweight, too. Mine didn't want to screw in to the new propane tank snugly, either. It seemed that some threads were stripped, despite me never having used any force to tighten it or get it all the way tightened at all. Finally, I tried to remove the propane tank from the base and couldn't do it. I'm sure someone stronger would have no issue, and the sturdy fit is great for practical use and holding up the machine, so that makes sense. It's a cool thing and I hope I can get it working! I want to like it!!
