Great Hybrid
Climbs vertical ice well enough to excel at short pitches of alpine ice. Self arrest is better than a technical tool so I feel more comfortable on tricky glacier approaches to said ice. I've even climbed ice with it paired with my Summit with a trigrest. Due to the low weight and shallow curve, it obviously doesn't swing or stay on holds as well as a more aggressive tech tool but it's great for short techy steps on long alpine routes.

this is a great alpine axe. although i was surprised how much the pinkie rest flexed on steeper stuff. Perfect for lower angle ice and steep, hard snow. being able to plunge the shaft for a self belay is a huge advantage over a more technical, fixed grip style ice tool. i really like the modular picks as well. It would be nice if you could swap it out with a more mountaineering style pick for less technical objectives.
