I bought this to use in vertical caving and on long rappels. The assisted braking makes this a very beneficial tool to carry. I was pleasantly surprised when the model I received was the updated model from Petzl that is the newer design with the improved black handle. I also purchased a Freino carabiner in order to add additional friction through the carabiners friction spur.
