Wowzer! Bought this for my hubby as a xmas present. He has the original Petzl Duo that I purchased for him 20 years ago and it's still going strong too. I updated him as he recently went caving with my son and college grotto and one student commented (in awe) that he'd never seen an original duo in person, only in books and magazines. !!! I thought it might be time for an upgrade. We haven't taken it into caves yet but it's been amazing at our cabin in the woods.

Easy To Use And Reliable!!
I bought this headlamp just over a month ago to replace and older Petzl Accu 450 lumen headlamp I used for mountain and trail running, night time cycling and skijorring with my Huskies during the winter months. I lived the Accu for its ease of use and great light array but I was always a bit disappointed by the short battery life. The Petzl Duo S has been just the upgrade I have been looking for! It is a lighter, better balanced headlamp that has proven rugged and capable. I have ran with it in heavy rains, below freezing mountain temps and, even hot humid nights and found the battery to be unwavering in endurance to both water and cold temps yet comfortable and light enough for the sweatiest of nights where other headlamps in this category can feel cumbersome. The light array on the Duo S is a great spread from low to high with excellent intensity changes. I was impressed with how the 1100 lumen boost really closed the darkness on both river and trails. Pricey, yes but, with the quality I have found in it, I hope it will be the last headlamp I ever buy- if it is, it will have been worth every penny.
