Holding up very well, no down leakage. Doesn't block wind at all (as expected) you'd be better off with a cotton hoodie if it's windy and you don't plan on layering over it at all. Not that warm when compressed (again as expected for a down of this fill). Recommend for an alpine day under a shell over a thermal where you're gonna have temp swings and activity level swings. chest pocket fits a +size cell phone.

Needed this to protect myself from some chilly windy conditions when I'm outside and it works perfect!

When I received the vest, I loved the look, feel, & weight of it. However, it is incredibly fragile. It ripped around 1/2 inch the first day I wore it right on the belly. I work in an office, so it's not like I was belaying a partner down el capitan. The lack of durability along with OR's poor warranty & lack of repair service make this vest a poor selection.

Great vest, nice color. Feel great when I wear it. Good insulation while not being too thick/bulky.

I own quite a few vests from other brands and this one is up there in value!

Feather-light but packs serious warmth. I wear it under my snowboard instructor gear so I look pro while secretly just trying not to freeze, and it doubles as my go-to hiking layer. Basically, it’s my “don’t shiver, look legit” 280 lbs at 6'2" . XXL runs tight but comfortable

Great fit, quality, comfort. Habitually pack this for travel as an e-layers for cold flight, and for comfort in Fall. Great piece of kit. I am 5'8", 170 lbs and the medium is perfect.

Big fan of this vest. High-quality, good style, and it's real down, so thumbs up all around. It fits a bit small, but not quite too small, and the next size up would be too big unless I want to wear a big hoodie underneath. Only disappointment is I seem to have received a previously work vest - crumbs in the pockets and an old dirty fabric glasses pouch in the breast pocket. Aside from having to clean those up, this vest is a five-star product based on my limited usage thus far.

Fits well, packs down small to stash when not needed. Use for winter hiking or extra layer on cold snowboard days. Holding up well after a couple years.

Fit is perfect, construction and materials are outstanding.

I have a lot of OR clothing and it's always great quality and consistent fit.

Very light and warm. Perfect layer to pack when the day gets warm…it’s slightly snug around the chest, I’m 510 and 200 lbs muscular build/large chest and shoulders. I find the xl to be slightly loose and the large to be slightly snug only around my chest

Quality is good, but this runs small! I got a medium and it fits way smaller than all of my other medium items. Size up!

I was skeptical of the modern, thin, down jackets and vests. I’ve loved my old style, bulky down vests, and had full faith in the warmth of down. The Outdoor Research Helium Down Vest has become a daily part of my kit working at a ski area. The cut is definitely very athletic or snug, which does make it amazing for layering over. I’m normally somewhere between a large and extra large, the XL fits much closer to a large than a XL. While not the most flattering for fashion wear, but it’s perfect for how warming layers are meant to be worn. Generally I’ll wear this vest over my base layer and under my other mid layer. Thought the day I might remove my other mid layer and use just this vest and my shell. As with all of my Outdoor Research gear I’m very impressed and happy with my purchase.
