Big Fan!

I was gifted the older model of this backpack a couple years ago as a new backpacker and it has since seen some real fun! The size is great for someone who tends to over pack and it worried about "not having the right thing". I really love the antigravity back panel, I don't feel the pack move as much while walking like you would for a typical commuter backpack. I'm still finding pockets and loops to put my stuff in. Just little features a new backpacker wouldn't know about. My only complaint about the one I have is the raincover wasn't included so I had to purchase one. I'm excited to purchase a smaller size, maybe 55L, and add the new PhotoLid to it!!

Love This Backpack! I Am

Love this backpack! I am just 5'0" and weigh about 105lbs and the XS fits well. Even on my small frame, I carry the 65L with no issues. The weight is distributed nicely and I am able to hike long distances. As a solo hiker, it's important that I can comfortably carry everything I need and this fits the bill. I love the many adjustable options for straps, waist straps, etc .. that have been added. Helps me feel like the pack was made custom for me. All of the pockets are so great too for easy access when on trail. Thank you, Osprey!

So, So Glad I Bought This.

This pack is extremely versatile in its ability to adjust in multiple areas where people differ in shape, which makes it one of your best bets in finding a correct fit. The recommended size is spot on, so don't focus on your clothing size as I'm fairly tall and not skinny, but needed the shorter xs size due to a short torso. The pack fits me perfectly with the recommended adjustments. I highly recommend watching the fit guide videos from Osprey on YouTube but to sum it up, start with the adjustment of the shoulder strap base along the frame (where the Y symbols are with the back of the pack facing you). Once that feels comfortable, load some gear for weight and adjust the hip belt, load lifter, and shoulder straps in that order. The comfort level of this pack is amazing. It cuts the feel of a moderate-heavy load in half or more. The organization is above and beyond. The structure makes it very convenient for packing as once you have your sleeping bag in the bottom, it sits upright. The guides for a water bladder are just right. The ability to adjust the compression on the bag is very helpful for stabilization. The curved frame and netting allow as much air flow as I've seen to minimize sweating/overheating from pack contact. Overall the bag is just really nice-looking, also. The only negatives I can think of are that I don't see a hook to keep the water bladder from sinking down into its pocket, but with full gear it's really not an issue. I don't see a way to remove the top compartment and use a flap cover as shown on some videos, but maybe I'm just overlooking it and honestly I don't care to remove it, anyway. I can also see that a new bag may rub very bony areas on some people, but I was able to get it to fit without pressure points with the available adjustments, and believe the bag will probably lose some stiffness with continued use. In summary, there are no negatives for me personally. The tungsten grey is really nice in person and looks pretty classy. I would not hesitate to purchase this again and am looking forward to getting some use out of this pack.

Disappointed

Unfortunately, I am pretty disappointed with this new design. I retired my Aura AG 65 after 8 years and the XS/S waist digs into my rib cage and the M/L is way too big (shoulder straps and waist) even with the torso adjustment. I was excited for the upgrade especially since it included the rain cover. Sadly, I really miss the old packs that were sized differently. And I miss having the ability to stuff the extra straps into the waist belt. A huge miss in my opinion. I will have to go with a different brand or try to find the older models of this pack.

Awesome Pack

I rarely write reviews but wanted everyone to know how cozy this pack is. I'm petite at 5'1" and have struggled with finding packs that fit me. This is most comfortable pack I have used in 20+ plus years of backpacking. I have loaded this pack up with backpacking gear including my ski gear for trips. It does amazing with a large load. I went on a week long backpacking trip with three other ladies. 3 out of 4 of us used this pack. We were all different shapes and sizes but all of us loved the fit of the Aura.
