Got this to have a hydrator pack for Kilimanjaro with room for a raincoat, extra clothes and the usual day pack accessories. As with most day packs these days, there was no zipper, strap or velcro closer at the top of the water bottle sleeves. I, and I bet most, owners use at least one of the sleeves for things other than water bottles. And since this is a hydrator pack with an internal 2. 5 liter water bladder, why would you want to use either sleeve for a water bottle? Yeah, Yeah, maybe you put a sports drink in one of those sleeves but you wouldn't often need both for bottles. So I ended up gluing velcro at the top of each sleeve so my sunscreen, little flashlight, protein bar, etc. etc. wouldn't fall out. I shouldn't have to do this. My second suggestion would be to have the access zippers to the main compartment run farther down the pack. This pack is narrow and deep. To get things that are on the bottom requires an effort, often requiring me to unload a lot of stuff to get to the bottom. Having whined, I also have to say that the hydrator equipment worked great, the firm padding on the back was comfortable and the pack is a great size for what I needed on the mountain. Before using it, I thought that 30 liters would be unnecessarily large for a day pack but I used all of the space. I use the Skarab a lot but I still also use my well travelled Jansport because it has zippered side pockets and the main compartment is much more accessible.
