Bought two Inlet Sport kayaks and have assembled them about 4 to 5 times each. I love that they fold up, and they work really well on the water. However, it is difficult getting the sides close enough together to install the zipper, and often it will come off one side when partially on. They stay together fine once on. It can be tricky getting them off because the kayak ends at the zipper are uneven and i have to work the zipper around a lot to find the right spot to slide it off. Another issue i found is after using the kayaks, we turn them over to drain and the rear bulkhead will pop out, requiring reassembly before using again. Note that we are an older couple. We are loving the kayaking part, and appreciate that these fold up and allow us to car camp at high sierra lakes. The assembly is a little tough for us, but still only takes a few minutes. Disassembly is a snap. And they fit easily in the back of our CRV.

Watching the videos about Oru kayak, I was under the impression that it was super easy to put together and (within 1 min) I would be in the water. this couldn't be further from the truth. . . It's very hard to put together specially the "zipper" in the Oru inlet sport. . . it's a struggle to get the bar to connect the sides of the kayak.

My husband and I have been contemplating buying these kayaks for well over a year. We weren’t sure about the durability. We finally decided to buy them and we are so happy we did! So convenient to put them in the back of our SUV and just go. They are easy to maneuver in the water and to assemble on land. We love them and wish we wouldn’t have waited so long!

I’ve been a kayaker for a very long time and the mobility and easiness of this kayak is unmatched. It was easy to learn assembly and so far I’ve had great customer service. The first one came defective and they sent out the replacement quickly. On the inlet sport, the channeling isn’t as stable as I had hoped. I had everything snapped into place and tight and while out on the lake I noticed both bulkheads had come out of the channels. It forced me to return to shore early. The channels and buckles stayed in place and the kayak worked but it was unsettling that it came apart while on the lake. I’m looking forward to more adventures on it and trust that if it is defective that Oru support will help.

I just went out for the first time today. I had unfolded and folded it 2 times at home first. I had no problem at the lake, everything was great. I am sure I will get faster over time. Kayak did great in the water. It tracked nicely. I am so impressed with the design!

After our first paddle in our Inlet Sports, my wife and I were very impressed with them. They set up easily and paddled quite nicely for 9’ boats on calm, flat water. There were a couple of niggling details that could use improvement: easing the ends of the “utility rails” so they aren’t square and sharp, and having some way to secure the flopping closure buckles when paddling. But other than that, we were happy with them. We have decades of experience with sea kayaks and currently own a pair of 16. 5’ Eddyline Journey kayaks. We got the Orus for travel purposes. Seems we made a good choice!

Easy to carry set up and fold. We do carry the bulkheads and seats in a separate bag. Saves weight and easier to pack.j

I got the inlet sport and installing the zippers is not very easy. Very close tolerances make it difficult. Hopefully this gets easier as it breaks in.

Had to return due to a defect that kept the rear bulkhead from staying in place.

It had a defect and I had to send it back. Adventure postp[oned--stay tuned for replacement!

Second attempt at this kayak and been having issues since. As you can see from the video the side will bend inwards which is a safety risk.

I like the portability and all from the oru kayak. The one thing I dislike is that the middle part that keeps the stern and bow together does not keep it together very well. The first couple of times going out, the stern popped open letting in a ton of water. I made sure that it was placed properly both times and the issue was still there.

I like the basic design of the boat but I’m waiting for the redesigned bulkheads to assemble it. It is still a little too chilly to think about taking it out on the water.
