Great Yak

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for cruising all day, the battery hardly drained after an 8 hour trip.

Fun Kayak And Great Fishing Platform

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the 132 with pedal drive and found it to be fast and very stable. I've been on rough water both on lakes and the ocean. I like the pedal drive as it's fast yet more than that it allows you to go forward and then back away as you hook a fish. When the E-PDL version became available I knew that this would shrink the size of those larger lakes. i can relax by using the pedal assist or sometimes just sit back and use cruise mode and let the motor do all the work, I even bought a additional 36 volt battery yet have never needed it as I have never actually ran the battery down.

Great Kayak With Excellent Peddle Assist!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome kayak! The epdl system helps me get where I want to go faster with a lot less stress on my legs. I just switched from a Hobie PA14. That kayak is Heavy, and terrible to paddle. With this I can actually paddle it comfortably, peddle it with near instant reverse, peddle assist using the battery, or use full cruise control. I’ve owned several kayaks and this is the best one by far. My only wish is if the setting for 4 with the peddle assist were a little faster. Setting 5 is great!🙂

Let's Not Buy In 2 Of Them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Boston's kayak a year ago. Loved every minute of it.

Epdl, Great Fishing Platform

After using the ePDL for the 2024 season I completely fell in love with this platform. I like having a reliable kayak that can get to t those far away fishing places without exerting the energy and also having the ability to pedal. This platform is stable enough to stand and fish or paddle while searching for those fish in the shallows. I have been tournament bass fishing from a kayak for nine years and owned many different kayaks…this is my favorite!

Go Farther, Travel Faster

I often fish in tidal saltwater rivers with very heavy current. I am able to fish places i have never fished in a kayak before and I can reset my drift faster, especially as the current picks up. I have also never killed the battery that comes with it in a single trip.

Old Town Bigwater Epdl Review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kayak changed my life. I’m an avid kayaker that fishes over 200 days a year in a kayak. I’ve always enjoyed the exercise I get on my kayak as well as being able to sit back and enjoy the scenery. This kayaking is plug and play. This is literally the best kayak ever produced on earth. I also just won the Florida Bass Nation kayak tournament trail on the St.John’s River January 4th 2025 on this kayak. I fished 8 hours straight and went on long runs only using up 20% of the battery life.

Such A Cool Kayak!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to get my hands on this kayak when it first came out. A kayak with e-bike technology was obviously going to be something different but I just didn’t realize how much of a game changer it is. Being on the water a lot and being able to save your legs enables you to fish longer. What I loved the most about this kayak is how fast it is. It truly feels like a sports car on the water!

Fast And Very Maneuverable..

I have us the Bigwater epdl all over North America. I have fished out of it in both fresh and saltwater . The battery life is amazing for the size of the battery., I have never run out of power in a single day.

Highly, Highly Recommend The Sportsman Epdl + 132

We bought two Sportsman BigWater ePDL + 132 Kayaks and could not be more pleased with them. There is enough room for my 80 lb bouvier dog to join us and she loves it. The kayak is very stable for rough water, boat wakes and windy conditions. The battery life is exceptional, lasting several hours even if you are trolling and not pedaling at all. We did buy a trailer to haul our two kayaks and that works very well! Would highly recommend these kayaks for fishing, cruising lakes and rivers!

Money Well Spent

I bought my Old Town BigWater ePDL+ 132 in February and thanks to warm weather, I've been out with it about 7 times. First, using the ePDL in all 3 modes, the battery will outlast your day of fishing. I use the cruise control and the assist mode when moving from spot to spot. While fishing, I use the drive manually. Transitioning from a Sportsman 120 PDL was simple. I have bad knees, so the BigWater ePDL+ 132 allows me to fully enjoy my day fishing on larger lakes. Although it may seem a bit pricey, the fact that you don't buy any additional items like batteries even out the cost.

This Is The Fastest Electric Kayak!

This is the fastest electric powered kayak that I have ever been on. It may not have spot lock but I will get to the fishing spots before my buddies.

A Hardcore Fishing Kayaker’s Dream

Be on the water with limited setup and no need to lug heavyweight batteries. This allows more time to catch fish! Assisted pedal assist is amazing and if you need to get somewhere in a dash put it in cruise control mode and fly!!

Love The Way It Moves

I bought this a couple weeks ago had it out one loved it even pulled my buddy off the lake great time.

Mostly Better Than The Autopilot

[Employee of johnsonwatercraft] I have both the salty PDL and the autopilot. I don’t own this kayak but I have used it many times and it’s a great blend between the two. The ePDL+ is much easier to learn/more intuitive than the autopilot. Pedal forward to go forward, pedal backward to go backward. Hook into a fish while trolling, simply pedal backwards to turn off cruise control, your hands remain on the rod. Unlike the autopilot where when you hook into a fish while trolling, you now you need to fiddle with a remote to stop the motor. The only thing I prefer the autopilot for is that it has spot lock. I like being an active participant on the water, so I like having the option to pedal entirely manually, some assist, or not pedal at all. It has five different speeds, which is great for keeping a consistent speed while trolling, or when I’m fighting current or wind. The highest speed is FAST- great for getting to my destination quickly. The battery life is excellent, especially if you do some pedaling.
