Light & Small But Valve Deflates; Easily Punctures
My family owns 2 (silver / grey top) regular Tensor All-Season Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pads and 5 (Yellow top) 2022 gen 1 regular Tensor Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pads. We have used these sleeping pads on single and multi-day bike pack trips, backcountry camping, canoe trips, winter camping, and hunting trips from Northern Alberta, Canada to Death Valley CA, USA. We have used them in tents with a ground sheet, on cots, and bivy sacs, never once directly on the ground or without ground protection. These sleeping pads have failed me and deflated more times than they have been successfully used. The 1st gen 2022 (Yellow top) regular Nemo Tensor Insulated Sleeping Pads are very light, inflate and deflate very quickly and are small to pack, where the pads fail is the very thing bottom and top fabric of only 20-denier polyester which makes them highly susceptible to punctures and ultimately a deflated pad. Yes, it comes with a patch kit, good luck finding a pin hole leak at 3:00 am inside a bivy sac or a full tent. The 2 gen (Yellow top) regular Nemo Tensor Trail Insulated Sleeping Pads are a slightly more robust with 40-denier polyester bottom and 20-denier polyester top as are the (silver / grey top) regular Tensor All-Season Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pads. Nemo replaced under warranty 2 of my 1st gen 2022 (Yellow top) regular Nemo Tensor Insulated Sleeping Pads with 2 of the (silver / grey top) regular Tensor All-Season Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pads (easy process). However, all of the pads have failed and deflated as a result of the silicone umbrella valve. Nemo will mail you a fist full of replacement umbrella valves (easy process). The ongoing issue I encounter is that any bit of feather down, dust or grit readily sticks to the silicone umbrella valve, or the walls of the valve plug and prevents a good seal from occurring. The solution is to clean the umbrella valve and entire assembly before every single time you sleep on the pad; oh joy, what fun that is every time. The umbrella valves on the 1st gen 2022 (Yellow top) regular Nemo Tensor Insulated Sleeping Pads have an arrowhead shaped steam which makes it super easy to remove and reinstall. The (silver / grey top) regular Tensor All-Season Ultralight Insulated Sleeping Pads have an umbrella valve steam has a rounded ball tip and it is not at all easy to reinstall if you remove it to clean it (a real PITA). I have zero interest in additional Nemo replacement pads, as the failures and deflated pads have just continued even with the warranty replacement pads. I have switched brands, never again to sleep on the cold ground because of a poorly designed Nemo Tensor. Who am I and do I know what I’m doing? Well, I’ve worked as a Backcountry Ranger in British Columbia, a Conservation Officer in Alberta, and as a hunting guide in Alberta, Canada. I have a diploma in Recreation, Fish & Wildlife, Certificate of Specialization in Fish & Wildlife Technology and a B.Sc. in Environmental Science. In short, I’ve spent a lot of time camping and working in the backcountry and using gear that I need to rely on, and I can’t rely on Nemo sleeping pads.

Ten Out Of Tensor Stars
I’ve been investing in making my sleep system better this past year and the Tensor All-Season has been a game changer! This bad boy is warm, comfortable, lightweight, and easy to set up and take down! Included pump sack, roll strap, and storage bag are all stellar too! I love that it’s easy to get the pad back in the bag after opening the first time unlike other pads where once it’s out good luck getting it back in. Never slept better in the backcountry than I do on this pad!

Best Sleeping Pad
Wanted a long wide sleeping pad for camping and backpacking. This pad packs up so small and weighs almost nothing. Found it a little noisy but that was partially my fault for inflating the pad too much.

Super Comfortable, Warm, Light, Compact, & Quiet!
Bottom line – light, compact, warm, quiet, and most importantly, super comfortable! I’m a side sleeper and the combination of hiking all day with a heavy pack and sleeping on my side (with hips touching the ground) while “sleeping” has been a hip-aching struggle for me in the backcountry. I had resolved to bringing along a car camping inflatable mattress with considerable bulk and weight – but it was worth it to me to get a good night’s sleep. Oh, and I had to bring an electric pump. The big mattress was comfortable, but it was often cold and simply too big to fit three people in a three-person tent – I needed to downsize. I bought the Tensor and it was truly a game changer for me. The included Vortex pump sack meant no more electric pump and it worked flawlessly. No hips touching the ground all night with a temperature drop from 50F to below freezing. The pad is quiet and super warm. This has been (with a combination of the Disco sleeping bag) the best decision for me to purchase for a good night’s rest in the backcountry!

Tensor All-season Wide/long
Switched up to a wide/long. It’s great! Could have gone with wide regular but it wasn’t in stock. The long is working out well.
