I bought this to take to the beach as a secondary pack for my “travel backpack” (Yeti Ranchero) which I treat as a piece of luggage. I figured this would be much easier to clean sunblock and sand off of, and I was correct. It’s no knock on the Yeti — this is just easier to clean. I love how it packs up into its own pocket while still feeling substantial as a backpack when unpacked. I’ve seen some online reviews stating that the water bottle pocket is “weird” or “wrong”, but I think those folks didn’t understand that its shape allows it to hold short fat bottles (like a Nalgene) as well as tall skinny bottles (like an 18oz Yeti Rambler). Overall, I like the pack, and I think some of the online reviews are wrong. It deserves better!

This little pack has been the perfect travel companion. I like to 'carry on' travel as often as possible - even a two week long trip to the UK and Ireland. As I can never truly get away from work my second bag has to be my computer bag holding a substantial amount of work related items. As such its hard to repurpose as a day pack. For me this leaves out the option of a day pack once on the ground. Enter the In and Out. It truly packs down small and takes up little room in my computer bag and once at my destination becomes an extremely effective day pack for touring about, shopping, hiking and going to the beach. It also worked great as an on-slope pack when on a ski trip last winter. This has been a 'go-to' standard for my traveling kit. Highly recommended.

I bought this pack a little over a month ago to be a low profile pack that I can every day carry to work either in my truck where it sits in my passenger seat or when I take the train into work. It’s great, well made, handsome and fits my yeti coffee cup in the side pocket perfectly and very securely. If the only thing it did was carry my coffee, I’d be happy, but it has pockets for my ever expanding gear that I carry and the pack shapes nicely with the small dry bag that I keep inside it. The quality of workmanship and design details are superb and even though it’s a humble pack compared to the rest of Mystery Ranch’s packs, it’s a contender! I was super stoked that I got this pack just a few days after ordering it and I haven’t left home without it ever since. Brilliantly done Mystery Ranch! Oh yeah, I also use it as a stuff sack/organizer inside my MR Blitz 30 when out on a ruck in the Cascade Mountains.

just got back from a week of long hikes, bikes & climbs & I had one of these strapped on for all of it. I've never had good experiences with packable day bags but I'm glad I gave this one a shot because it was excellent! super comfortable all day & weighs basically nothing. Comfortable even with 2L of water & some gear! also of course it seems to be indestructible

I'm currently in italy and love the light weight pack.
