This product is a little better than nothing. My first look told everything. There is no flexible seal on the circumference. When I made the purchase, a MugMate Coffee/Tea Filter was included. As a suggestion use a coarse ground coffee then a final filter through the Mugmate into a cup. This product needs to go back to engineering!

My mistake. I didn't consider carefully before ordering. Cleanup too messy, requires too much water at primitive/wild camp situations. Hard to follow "leave no trace" practices. I'll continue to use paper filters instead, and haul out the garbage.

I used it on my last hiking/camping trip and many coffee grounds made it into my coffee. It definitely packs well as advertised but not great tasting coffee. Disappointed that it doesn't make a good seal against the cup.

Nothing like fresh pressed coffee right with no grains in it.

I love the easy compactability of this product. You can unscrew the metal rod and break it down into two pieces. These two pieces can then snap together -- fewer moving parts. My only caveat with this product is that it doesn't fit inside the stove for storage when you also have the fuel and burner stored inside. You can fit it on the bottom with the attached bowl; However, the bowl doesn't properly close thereafter so there's a higher chance of something breaking when you store it. Instead, I stored separately. Not a big deal but worth mentioning.

Serving us well on a 10 day trip around Bryce, Zion, and the North rim of the Grand Canyon. It stows away nicely and hasn’t let a coffee ground through yet!!

Instant coffee just doesn't cut it in the backcountry... if you're like me and picky about your morning brew, this is a must-have accessory for your WindBurner. The added weight to your pack is minimal and the press packs nicely into the pots with fuel can & stove. Some reviewers here have commented that grounds get through the screen... that's not my experience and I have both press sizes (Personal and Duo Pot). French Press style brewing requires a coarse ground.. some very fine coffee sediment will get through but that's to be expected when using this method.
The perfect cup of coffee!! Can I repeat this process really works well coffee on the trail, priceless! MSR really knows how to make solid products. I would not steer away from this press if you like coffee.

I used this for a 30 day trip to the Nordkapp. Works perfectly. Easy to store, easy to clean.

Works great. Nothing like good coffee in the mountains!

So I've had the other brand canister stoves with the coffee press and it worked great. I upgraded to the windburner and purchased a coffee press for my winter mountain training exercise. Very frustrated with the amount of grounds that travel through the sides of the press. I've tried waiting up to six minutes to let the grounds sink some, didn't work. Wish it fitter better in the stove. Would've given it 3-5 stars if only a few grounds escaped, that would have been expected.

I am not much of a coffee guy, but the ease of use of this press makes it worth it for those cold mountain mornings.

This works great, lightweight, and the best way I have found to make coffee in the mountains when using a backpack.

Picked up the solo version from my LBS Rainbow Cycles. I'm a convert from instant coffee. Worked perfectly the first try. 27 grams of coffee to 14 oz of water hand ground and steep for 3:45 minutes. Minimal weight and a press that rivals my Bodum press pot.

The coffe press works well for coffee or tea. Fits wonderfully in the stove with a can of 4 oz gas all packed together. It's just a little hard to push it down when your using it. Super light and not many grounds in coffee
