I have the medium deep dish plate: Pluses:---- + It fits in place of the Trangia 27 frypan/lid, with some protective fabric (of course)...I dont use the frypan so a good swap. +light polypropylene Cons: - there is a mould mark (small 8mm diameter circular indent on the eating surface, surely this should be on the outer so that the eating surface is completely smooth? -it would be nice if slightly taller (5 or 6cm?) with perhaps a thickened lip. Regards

Love the weight and deep sides but if you need to bring more than a plate that nests with my pots, they take up WAY TO MUCH space. Can these be redesigned to nest into each other so they can actually be brought back country camping?

I read a number of reviews that said that these bowls do not nest, when in fact they nest inside of the cooking pots and the beverage cups nest between each bowl. Cooking pot/bowl/2 cups/bowl/pot cover. I have been using the cooking set for over 12 years and lot it. I live in the heart of the BWACW (Boundary Waters Area Canoe Wilderness) so this product gets a lot of use.

I agree with what Katie and Eric wrote, quoted below; the plates and bowls lose utility due to fact they do not nest in one another. Whether camping, or at home, each plate or bowl takes up space and cannot be stacked into each other. Not even the heaviest dishware I know of has that problem. MSR is one of the most important outdoor gear companies, manufacturing the best stoves, and other gear. Cookwear also the best available. These plates and bowls are great, but, not being able to stack them is a real detractor. I bought three each of a two bowls and plates, am glad I did, but, they take up the space of like 20 full size bowls or plates in my kitchen cabinet. Presumably MSR has considered this and determined that the product is best as is, maybe ? Personally, I vote for nesting/stackable versions, similar to any old school tupperware. "I love that these nest with MSR's cook pots, it's a great size and nice that it's deep; BUT, I feel like they could be just slightly sloped to be able to stack into each other, and still nest within MSR's pots. That tweak would honestly make these great." (Katie on 24 Aug 2021) "Deep Dish Plates That Don't Nest' Review by Eric on 22 Jul 2019 review stating "Deep Dish Plates That Don't Nest Great wall height proportional to diameter! Perfect bottom & wall thickness to support the weight of food without being so thick that they add too much weight. Really wish the same diameter plates (and bowls) nested within each other. Plates nesting inside one another is far more important to me than nesting with a pot. When the family goes caDeep Dish Plates That Don't Nestmping I now have one plate that nests with a pot and other plates that take up a ton of room that nest with nothing. For those who will never buy more than one plate (or bowl) these are great in nesting with MSR's pots but for those who have more than one person and therefore more than one plate (or bowl) you can do better taking up less space with nesting plates. This product's description really should state in all capital letters that the plates will not nest with each other. "

Great camping plates/bowls. I love that these have enough of a lip that they can be used as bowls too! Only downfall is they don’t stack very well and take up a significant amount of space in our camping tote.
