Little big but overall very warm. Size is Xl is definitely roomy for layering up. True size of L, could've gotten away with a hoody though.

Perfect fit! Super lightweight and surprisingly warm

I bought this jacket a month ago and returned it. The quality seemed nice but the fit was too small. I found the shoulders and body a little too tight. Definitely not a standard fit. It is more of a fitted or slim fit. I had restricted arm movement with a medium. Length was good though. The Ventano is a standard fit. I bought that one too and kept that one.

I really wanted to like this jacket, especially because I bought it on sale. It seems really well made. The issue I have is that the cuffs are enormous. It seems like the cuffs are as wide as the upper arms. There is no taper. The cuffs are completely open which will allow cold drafts. This makes the jacket unusable for me. I will be returning the jacket, and I am really disappointed to do that.

Zipper too small, makes it very difficult to use. Sizing runs small. Return shipping charges.

I bought this as a gift for my son and he loves it! This piece delivers on all fronts: it’s worthy of the hype, warm, layer-able, durable - worth the money.

I really like this jacket. It is lightweight, keeps you warm and fits well. I like the longer sleeves that slightly cover the hands. As part of a layered system for keeping warm, it works well. I wear a wool base layer, nylon shirt, fleece jacket and hard shell in very cold and windy conditions. The only complaint I have with this excellent jacket is the tiny, somewhat cheap zipper. It is impossible to get this zipper started with seeing it. In other words, if it is dark you can't feel your way to get the zipper started. I wonder what will happen if I'm stuck someplace in the cold and dark and I need to get the zipper in place to zip up. I could be fumbling for a long time. Mountain Hardware - please make the zipper larger and better quality and you will have a perfect jacket.

My second GW, first without a hood. Love the fit although I’m a bit heavy and the fit is snug (expected). Perfect jacket for layering in extreme cold or standalone in chill and wind.

Large is Perfect fit for me. 180#, 6’1”. Lightweight and warm. Great lightweight jacket or mid layer. Love the color and seems well made…..!!

When layered with base layer, fleece, and hard shell, this thing keeps you extremely warm. It packs up super small so that it may fit in a day pack, technical pack, or your long-haul pack. I wore it in Mammoth with temps dipping down into the teens and it worked very well.

The jacket is very light, but also not the warmest. I use it primarily as a light layer in the winter and my primary layer when backpacking in the summer. This is my second ghost whisperer-pockets have a slightly larger opening, and cuffs are more durable. It fits just a little snug: a L usually fits me fairly loosely in other outdoor gear and a Ghost Whisperer L just barely fits me. If you are looking for very warm and very durable, this is not your down jacket. If you are looking for crazy light and warm for how light it is, this is a great option.

I purchased this jacket to replace an L.L.Bean jacket of similar style. First off the jacket runs small, I had to return the large to get the next size up. Second it’s not warm at all. It may say 800 fill down but there isn’t enough down in this jacket to cover a chickadee. Not worth the money when you can find other options at or near the same price point.

The Ghost Whisperer 2 is designated as being "true to size" - this is absolutely false. The jacket is absurdly tight through the shoulders and under the arms. As nice as it looks, wearing this thing is a miserable experience compared with that of comparable down jackets from other manufacturers. This renders the garment basically UNUSABLE, and anyone would be ill-advised to choose the Ghost Whisperer 2 unless he is a very thin individual. (I am have a normal, somewhat athletic build, not thin, but definitely not fat. Mountain Hardwear used to fit me, but this thing is just useless and frustrating.) This seems to be yet another example of a major company downsizing its garments in order to 1.) Save money on materials (making things undersized means using less materials = saving money - as stupid as this sounds, and 2.) Designing working outdoor gear to look good on a tiny fraction of the populace which are built like tall, lanky male models so that the items LOOK GOOD on the male models they use in catalogs. Personally, I'd like to see Mountain Hardwear STOP USING MODELS to present its gear, and instead, use real people to illustrate the usability and real world strength of its products. But... Madison Avenue probably has other ideas, so... we end up with flashy, badly designed gear like the Ghost Whisperer 2, instead of a jacket that would fit normal human beings and be a worthy, useful part of an outdoor wardrobe.

The Ghost Whisperer is a down jacket that can easily be rolled up and put in your Fanny pack for when the weather turns cold. As Mark Twain was fond of saying, “the coldest winter I can remember was a summer in San Francisco” (or something along those lines). Mark Twain would have loved this jacket!

This is a very nicely cut and made jacket. Perfect weight for what I wanted. Sleeves are longer than others I have tried - really great. One disappointment is the color. I ordered "Moon Moss" which looks like a nice copper with maybe a hint of green on the web photo. It is brown.
