These are probably great shoes for someone with narrower feet. I've used trail gloves for over ten years, but they are no longer suited for those of us with wider feet. They're much narrower than before, and unfortunately I've had to give up Merrell shoes for other brands which are more comfortable.why

Great For Hiking
I used these as hiking shoes. I hiked more than 26 miles over 5 days, with a combination of day pack and backpack and thousands of feet of elevation gain. These shoes stood up to everything. I wore them without socks. There was a bit of rubbing, but nothing too serious. I was very happy with their performance and highly recommend them. The only knock I have is that they have an odor that doesn't go away, even after washing. It's not horrible, but definitely noticeable.

New Generation, Same Great Barefoot Running Shoe
Plenty of room in the toe box and more forgiving than the vapor glove. I didn’t need to size down with wide feet. It’s the same great fit as earlier generations of Merrill barefoot shoes.

Weird Rubber Design
Why the heck do i need rubber, almost up to the laces on the outside of the shoe? I understand inside near the arch because a lot of us flatten that down so much…but what am i gripping near my outter ankle?

Great Shoes (My Favorites Even) But...
I really REALLY love how these shoes fit and look. Excellent design and construction. I do however notice that the soles are wearing MUCH faster than my previous Merrells (Trail Glove 5). After just a couple of months they are already more worn than my 5s were after years. This doesn't seem to indicate a design flaw so I can only surmise the materials are somehow changed from before.
