I’m really impressed with the Speed Strike 2 Mid Waterproof hiking shoes. The comfort is outstanding, they offer the solid ankle support of a mid-height boot but feel as agile and lightweight as a trail runner. The ridged soles are great on rocks and the traction is top-notch offering excellent grip on loose dirt and rocky paths. The waterproof membrane works well keeping unexpected puddles at bay while still letting my feet breathe. I think they look great, the versatile earthy tone doesn't show dirt easily. If you're looking for a durable, dry, and athletic hiking shoe for day hikes or light backpacking, these are a winner!

These are my first pair of Merrell boots and they don’t disappoint! I’ve done long hours on my feet on solid concrete surfaces for years and found the Nike Goadome’s to be best suited for that, but with the cancellation of that boot design I struggled to find anything that’s specifics merited a try; till I came across these. No, they don’t have “air” pockets but the design hugs my foot instead of confining it. And the wider foot bed/toe space makes walking a mile and a half on the first day of owning them a breeze! The soles aren’t vibraim but the don’t need to be. The dirt/mud are easy to navigate and clean up is easy while not making the boot feel “clunky “. Worth the money spent!
