I bought this for use on vacation in Portugal, Spain and Rome. Every day was miles of walking on cobbly streets and very hilly. The shoes were very comfortable at first, with grippy soles and good looking, but too thin and flexy for my old flat feet. Even with my orthotic insoles I was sore every day and they were unusually hot. I switched to my Teva sandals for the next two weeks and was fine. I should have gone with a Moab Vent.

Great hiking/walking shoes. Shopped around for a below ankle shoe, the Speed Striker 2 was the best I found. Comfortable, durable w/great traction. I own other hiking boots from quality brands and Merrell Footwear is in their league. Good product, give it a try!

I bought my Merrell Speed Strike 2 shoes because I wanted a solid pair of lightweight, hiking shoes. I tested them on a recent trip to Hawaii where I did a hike through a rain forest. The shoes met all my expectations. Very comfortable, got me through all the rough trails, and even wading through some water crossings.

Good shoe, fits well great for walking, looks good

Runs very large, one full size if not more, got men’s 7.5 W and it is large in length and a lot wider in width, it felt lightweight which is good, if the fit was better think it would be a good shoe but as large as it is, tried for couple days and it is in the donation box now.

Second pair, love them. Easy to order by scanning the label on the shoe tab.
Have worn Moab low quarter hiking shoes for ever, however, was looking for something in a hiker that was a bit lighter for everyday wear and perhaps more cushion on the feet. The Speed Strike seems to fit that requirement, at least for me. Live in the desert foothills above Phoenix and daily walking a combination of concrete, light trails and occasionally a trail for a more demanding shoe with heavier lugs. Switch between this shoe and a Moab II when I need something real heavy duty. The shoe is light enough with great flexibility. The toe box is also a bit extended compared to the Moab II so feels more comfortable going downhill. They may not last as long as a Moab, but will see how that goes. Satisfied with the purchase.

I really like these shoes. They nicely wrap my feet. I have metatarsal issues and these shoes are comfortable. I am thinking about getting another pair in a different color.

These shoes blew me away when I first got them at the beginning of the year. They were an excellent new hiking/ trail running shoe that motivated me to start hiking everyday since then. Unfortunately I discovered after having a foot irritation issue on one foot, that the soles were the most cheapest insoles I have ever seen, and also that they literally slide around inside the shoe as they are not affixed in anyway like a new shoe would be. Consequently now I have a contact dermatitis issue I am dealing with because the insoles are so cheap. Quite disappointing for merrell shoes and what they cost. "Soles sliding back in the shoe. They don’t seem glued securely." Apparently I am not the only one who has encountered this issue. Please fix merrell team

Bought these shoes a couple weeks ago. They are great, fit like a glove and are great for walking the trails and I even wore them to wrk to try them all day. Great shoes from Merrell.

Best and most comfortable shoes I've bought for work and walking on concrete! No more pain! Soft and comfortable from start and no break in needed

Great multi-purpose shoe in my honest opinion. I've done everything from a 22mile walk to running 10 miles on a timber path. No blistering or hot spots! Will be an avid buyer of these. DO NOT CHANGE THEM!

They seemed to fit OK at first. But they are bigger than I expected.
