Rounded Toe Box Is Great.

Rounded toe box is great when i went up a half size. Very comfortable. Upper is not as sturdy as some models ... but I am not paying for leather uppers. Nor are my ears young enough to hear the squishy dound that the waterproof layer makes. Great shoe.

Newer Isn’t Better…

Newer isn’t better.The previous Nova versions provided more support as they had the plastic rails on the sole for stability, as well as a better type of sole that didn’t wear down quickly, especially if you are a bigger guy. This version of the shoe provides little support and seems to now have the same crappy foam as Sketchers. I have worn Merrill’s exclusively for the past 6 years, and this version of Nova that has made me consider looking for a different brand.

Great Shoe With A Terrible Waterproof Membrane

I bought the waterproof Nova 4's a couple of weeks ago. Took them out of the box and just flexed them and they made a crinkling sound. Worn them on the carpet for about an hour and I crinkled every time I walked. It sound like the waterproof membrane is made from cheap piece of cellophane. Otherwise loved the shoe but really wanted something waterproof so I had to return them.
