Extra Thick Socks Are Not Enough For Snug Fit.

This hiking boot is well made and if it fit well for me, then I would probably love it. Unfortunately, the wide width is significantly too wide for me.

Very Comfortable Boots

I bought these to replace Merrell mid 2s that had a lot of years and miles and were wearing out. I was apprehensive because some reviews said they weren’t as comfortable as the old versions. I was very happy after wearing them a couple weeks they are just as comfortable. There was really no break in needed. Wore them around the house for a day and have done several 2-3 mile walks the last couple of weeks with no issues. I haven’t hit the trail yet for longer hikes but expect no issues. They are very comfortable and expect them to be as durable as my last pair. These are the best value for your money.

The Best

Exactly what I want from a walking/hiking shoe-comfortable and durable. I am 80 years old and have had Merrells for30 years.

Great Foot Support

Solid shoes with good support. Have about 50 miles on them so far and they have been great!

Great Work Shoe

I wear my Moabs to irrigate corn, alfalfa and triticale. We feed all this chopped to dairy cows. My feet are nightmares(neuropathy) and Merrells are the only brand I have found that are comfortable and tough enough for work. I usually get 2 to 3 seasons out of them. Thank you for making a boot that can keep me going!

Moab Vent - No Mid-sole Cushion..

I've worn the Moab for years but mostly in the Gore-tex version. The vented version has little to no padding under foot, 2nd pair like this Ive bought, wore these less than one week and they are going on e-bay at half price... Meanwhile.. The MOAB Prime low is in another comfort category, but it's not available in a mid version. time for another shoe company...

Make Them Brown

I wish Merrel would make these shoes in brown, I think that’s the best color for these shoes. I have bought two pairs of these shoes ( in brown) and have worn them for years but now my feet have gotten a little larger and you don’t have them in size 14 brown, please consider making them in brown. Thank you

Wide Means Wider

I ordered the Wide width boots because with Smartwool sock and normal feet swelling during/after backpacking; my (everyone’s) feet swell up. This particular pair of Moab 3’s were wider than normal wide width boots, making my Smartwool’ed feet slide around in them during normal walking, let alone backpacking. I returned them, went to a store and tried on normal width Moab3’s and couldn’t find an happy medium. Unfortunately, I ended up in another brand’s boots.

Get The Non "Waterproof" Version.

The Moab 3 Mid is a great lightweight hiking boot. Love them. However, don't be fooled and get the Moab 3 Mid Waterproof. It's dumb Merrell uses the same name. The "Waterproof" version make your feet sweet and are heavier. I hated them.

Better!

There’s not a lot that I good say about this pair of Moab’s that hasn’t already been said and proven. In my opinion Merrell’s sale themselves. Always true to fit and hold up to every abuse thrown at them. Wear them all day while working around my farm and then for the evening walk along the creek with my dog I never get tired of having them on my feet. The more you wear them the better they get. Most shoes or boots have a break in period and then you’ve got what you got. Not Merrell’s, they’re better every time you lace them up!

Awesome But Slightly Too Wide

Overall these are great boots, but for me the regular width are too narrow but wide is slightly too wide to be great trail boots. I will happily wear these with thick socks as casual boots. Love the vibram and how light they are with the right amount of support and protection.

Moab Mid 3, Not For Me.

After 20 years, I decided to give Merrells another try. I am a backpacker and a day hiker, generally in rough and steep terrain. This shoe/light hiker is better left for mowing lawns and yard work. This mid-hiker will never see a 25-mile three-day backpacking trip in the Alps on my feet. Disappointing.
