Great Jacket

Fits great and is waterproof. Jacket is also lightweight and fits over a mid layer for winter season. Haven’t worn it long enough to test for durability. Seems the jacket has been discontinued

Nice Jacket Shell. Questionable Zipper

This is a strong jacket that will protect against the wind, rain and snow. The sleeves seem a little long, the guide chart suggested the sleeves would be 34 inches long, it feels like they are closer to 35 to 36 inches long. The zipper seems a little flimsy. We’ll have to see how long this holds up. The zipper is difficult to initiate starting to zip.

Great Jacket

Excellent jacket, awesome Marmot quality as always since my first jacket in the 70’s

Top Notch Product

Probably the best high-end rain jacket available. High end Gore-Tex, great features such as pockets and vents, great length and cut, etc.

Does The Job

Mountaineering Shell Jacket : Does the job. Wish it was lighter and more packable

Good Deal On Sale, But Missing Recco.

Solid GTX pro shell but conspicuously lacking Recco, which is strange at this price point. Still a decent value play for the clearance price I paid. I dig the huge dual opening pockets. I think an older model (Solaris?) had these too. Love the Nori color with orange zippers. I have the Alt HB in Nori too. Definitely an athletic fit that does not leave me with too much layering room at 6' 3" 225lb with a 45-46" chest, but it does not pull across the chest or back. I can fit a low-bulk down piece underneath if needed. Recommended if you can get on deep sale (60%+ off).

Excellent. Fit A Bit Large.

Another hit from Marmot. Really high quality with all of the features you need in a performance alpine jacket. Zippers and material all feel very high quality. Love the dual-direction zippers. Built to last. 5'8" 145 pounds. Men's small. Jacket is good for layering but would prefer a more athletic fit like other small men's from Marmot.

Try It When There Is A Promotion, Then Decide.

Marmot always offers cost-effective products and additional discounts. The double-sided zippers on the front placket, pockets, and armpits of this garment are impressive. This may be the most cost-effective Gore Tex Pro product you can buy in the market. There are two points that can be improved, the access zipper is relatively thin, and I may be concerned about its durability. Secondly, he may not be as friendly to people with wide shoulders (I am 172cm tall, paired with short sleeves and the Arc'teryx Atom AR, wearing this size S doesn't make my shoulders 100% flexible).

Quality And Reliability.

Quality shell comparable to my Arc’teryx Alpine Gore Tex Pro shells but at a reasonable price. Lighter weight than other similar products on the market, this jacket takes on tough Canadian weather whenever I pull it out.

Excellent Gear For High Altitude Mountain

Fantastic shell; I used for my recent 'alpinism challenge' where I was escalating Misti and Chachani Vulcans in Peru, ~ 19 900 ft over see level

When Needed, It's There!

Solid rain jacket for my purposes. I'm not a climber, just an old backpacker who can afford the best.

Color Is Not True Blue

This jacket was ok for the sale price but I wouldn't buy it at full price. It's completely unlined, just a crunchy shell. The color is also not a true blue but rather a purple blue.

Close But Not Quite

I love the spec on ths jacket, the fabric, the pit zips, and pack pockets. I am a hiker not a skier or climber and I really hate the helmet compatibe hoods that nearly every manufacturer forces us to put up with, unfortuately Marmot is no exception. I purchased an XXL which is my normal size, maybe US sizing is different than here in Europe, but this turned out too big for me, the sleeve lengh was too long, the pack pockets zips were under the hip belt of my pack, and there was space for more layers even when fully layered up. The sleeve length caused the arms to wet out pretty quickly as they could not shed water fast enough due to being bunched up. Struggling to get a decent fit on the hood so that it would stay on my head in storms I broke one of the elastic drawcords (it came detached at its achor point) but I managed to repair it with a needle and thread, Because I love the spec and the format of this jacket I have recently ordered an XL which I hope will be a more appropriate fit. I do think though that Marmot is missing a trick on the marketing of this jacket, If you had a hiker version with standard hood it would be a great USP, Few other brands offer the same level of features. You also need to do something about the way sizing is presented in Europe. I am 6'5" and 225lbs , never before did I find an XXL too big.

Bomb Proof Gore-tex Pro Jacket

This is an awesome jacket and it's a steal of a deal when on sale. I'm a size L and I can fit a stretch fleece and down or synthetic sweater under it. If I were going to wear this in very cold weather I would size up for layering.
