The Right Hard Shell For Wet And Windy
I have had this jacket for about three seasons and have only used it for snowboarding, which amounts to approximately 1.5 years of use and around 25 days on the mountain per season. The good news is that the jacket performs exceptionally well in wet and windy conditions; I was always kept dry, and it is truly impressive in that regard. However, the downside is its durability, coupled with Mammut's relatively short two-year warranty. I've noticed wear around the zippers, and holes have started to appear in the underarm vent zippers. If you plan to use this jacket weekly on the mountain snowboarding and more, I would not recommend it. I am now considering moving to a gear provider that offers a warranty longer than two years and backs their durability.

Great jacket. Have worn it mountaineering and it stops all wind while breathing perfectly. 10/10.

Great Jacket, Great Fit!
The quality of materials is top notch and the attention to detail on the build is great. Very well made jacket. Absolutely rock solid in the rainy/heavy wet snow of the inland northwest. The pocket placement took a little getting used to but if you’re standing around with your hands in your pockets, this is probably not the best jacket for you. The material is louder than expected but after a very wet winter and no leaks, I’m fine with a little crunchy.

Great Shell
Coat is very breathable and light. However, I wish it had a little more pockets and was quieter. It is very crinkly when moving, and did not seem to break in much over the course of the ski season. Overall still a great coat but could use a couple improvements!

Burly, Breathable, And Well Designed Hardshell
This jacket has so far lived up to the hype. I've been able to take it hiking in New Zealand and around the PnW and its held up well to the rain, wind, and a little bushwacking. It feels very well constructed, and while I would've loved front pockets, the storage and design are well thought out. The pit zips are well designed and easy to use (maybe the easiest out of any i've tried), and offer good ventilation while moving. This jacked is overkill for daily city use, but if you're going up into the mountains or live in a rainy place its well worth the money. 5'11 185lbs in a Large fits very well with a few light layers underneath
