Strong Like An Over Engineered Doghouse
All the quality and ruggedness you’ve come to know from Leatherman. Brought to you from your favorite moose themed retailer. The surge is definitely one of the largest in the Leatherman line up. But it’s for good reason. The surge feels like a near indestructible pair of pliers that can handle any task. As well as easy open blades/tools from the closed position. Open it up and you have access to the remaining equipment for all your multi tool needs. Overall this gets my two thumbs up. But Phil who had an accident in the dock can only give it one and a half thumbs.

Heavy Duty
This is a heavy solid multitool. It feels like it will last forever. The replaceable wire cutter blades are a nice feature. Also the interchangeable saw and file are cool too.

Heavy Duty, Best Scissors In A Multitool
I own smaller models in the Leatherman line (Crunch, Charge, Juice) as well as a Victorinox Classic. The Surge is by far the heaviest multitool, perhaps a bit too much to use as EDC unless you are using the larger pliers all the time. The scissors are the best in a multitool or knife: smooth spring action, long blades, not finicky or flimsy. Top recommendation if you need this size of multitool.
