Stiff Heel Band Causes Heel Pain And Swelling

I purchased these climbing shoes at the end of last summer and began wearing them on a few climbing trips as the spring season started. The rubber is impressively grippy, and the fit feels good for my narrow feet. However, I’ve experienced a persistent issue with the heel construction. The stiff heel band presses uncomfortably into the back of my heel and Achilles, even during light approach walks. I tried removing the inserts, but the problem persisted. Over a long weekend trip where these were my only approach shoes, this has led to swelling and a raised ridge on the back of my heels, which is painful and has started to affect my ability to wear the shoes at all. In hindsight, I wonder if a half-size up might have mitigated the issue, though the shoes feel like the right fit around the front and toe. Overall, while these shoes are extremely grippy for a more involved approach, the discomfort around the heel limits their use for me, and I would caution others with similar foot types to try them on before buying.

Zion Hiking

This shoe was recommended by all of our guides due to the grippy bottom. I ordered 1/2 size up from my normal shoe size to allow for bulkier socks and feet swelling after long day hikes. Love the shoes.

Cool & Didn’t Tear!

I made it through one season of non stops hiking & scrambling at red rock canyon In Nevada. This shoe has took it well- I’ve changed the insoles only & they still have tread & have not torn. All other shoes I’ve had out here either get cut on the rock or tear from the cactus. Cool shoe -great approach shoe in hot weather.

Great Hiking/scrambling Shoe

Awesome hiking shoe and great for scrambling. Lightweight and breathable. Drains well and my feet don’t sweat like with typical hiking boots, also offers a lot more support and grip than a trail runner.

Love These Shoes

I love wearing these as trail shoes. Very grippy and flexible. I'm glad for the size guide, as I would have ordered a half size down based on past experience with EU sizing, but the size La Sportiva recommends fit perfectly.

Ended Up Sending These Back And Got The Next Gen

Love this style, but wanted a more durable feeling. Got the TX4 instead and love them. The rubber and sole are very comfortable and they have great grip.

Love This Shoe!

I believe I'm on my 4th pair of these shoes. It's by far the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I don't care that it's overkill to wear them doing errands around town, or on hikes around my house. I even wore them when I was running for office in a recent election! (Hey, when my feet are happy, I'm happy.) They're great on mountain hikes as well- very stable, and with a sticky sole that great on rock- even in the rain. Plenty of room in the toe box and good support. I feel like I should buy a lifetime supply of them. I'm very rarely this enthusiastic about any product, but I love this shoe!

My Go-to For All Hikes

I own these in two sizes -one for short day hikes and one size up for long hikes and thru hikes. They are light, super sticky, and fit my long narrow (but not n width) feet perfectly. My only complaint is that I need a US W11 for thru-hiking and they are rarely in stock. I don't mind that the sticky soles mean that I need to replace them quickly because they work so well for me -even when carrying a heavier pack on a hike like the JMT. I will be extremely sad if these are ever discontinued and my local gear shop knows to hold any size 11 shoes they get in for me because they are as rare as hens teeth it seems. I've been lucky to get my hands on three pairs so far and my fingers are crossed that they will be in stock again since my summer adventures on granite have really worn down the tread on my current pair. The only time I had any issues with their durability was with the laces getting damaged easily on some rocks once -and those have also been out of stock for years it seems.

Solid Approach Shoe

I have this same model and loved them. So far, this pair is causing quite a bit of heal pain, which is concerning but I'm hopeful it'll go away as the shoes break in. The mesh is great as it gives a lot of breathability.

Sturdy Shoe

I got these a few moths ago in preparation for a trip to Mount Olympus this coming July. I’ve been wearing them around town, on my bike, golfing and hiking. Easy to wear. Never gave me blisters. Should work well as approach shoes for our climb. The 2 fellas I’m going on the climb with have had the men’s version for years and recommended them to me. They are a bit heavy and stiff but I’m hoping their rock climbing soles will be worth taking when we have the rock spire at the end for our summit.

Great Shoes!

I bought these a little over a month ago and love them. They took me a little while to break in, but they are really comfortable and have great grip when hiking or canyoning.

Bought these for a recent climbing trip and boy did they not disappoint. Felt like I had 4 wheel drive on my feet! Highly recommend & the colors are beautiful!

Comfortable And Lightweight

This is my fourth pair of TX3s. They are very comfortable, required no breaking in time and are perfect for multi-pitch because they are so lightweight, for when I have to carry them up the route with me.

My Favorite Approach Shoes

This is my second pair of these shoes. I love them and wear them on short approaches, long approaches, easy climbing, even short runs when I have no other options. Perfect blend of comfort, durability, weight, and most of all, foot support. I'm 36.5/37 in TC Pros and have a 37 in these.
