Great Boot For Cold Winter Ice Climbing.

I bought this boot for ice climbing in New Hampshire. I've been out four times now in temps down to the single digits (F). Finnish: The first thing you notice when unboxing these is, well, how nice looking they are. The "look" like the build quality is exceptional. Weight: Size 43 (US 10) each boot weighs exactly 1000g. Fit: The fit right out of the box is fantastic. The sizing seems to be spot on with all my other shoes. (US 10, EUR 43). My feet are a little wider than average and I often have compression at the widest part of my foot. Not with these, these fit perfect. I'm not sure how these will fit a narrow foot so be advised to check that if your feet are narrow. As mentioned in other reviews, the lacing system is simple and functional. The locking eyelets allow differential tightening between the top and lower part of the boot. Crampon fit: Grivel Rambo 4 crampons fit perfectly. Steep ice. Great support on steep ice. Hiking: The stiff insole that make these great for vertical ice makes these relatively stiff and inflexible for hiking. For approaches on snow they are fine but I'd look for something else for longer hikes that don't involve steep climbing. Warmth: My feet get cold. I have some toe nerve damage from many years of playing outside in the winter. I have used these standing on ice for 6 hours in air temps in the teens. I've done a couple hikes in temps in the single digits. I do have to put a chemical toe warmer in the toe of the boot but with that my feet have been comfortable in those conditions. The G5 Evo's are probably warmer but these work for what I want. I am very impressed and happy with these boots for what I need (winter ice climbing in temps down to low teens (F). I recommend these for this purpose and would buy again.

La Sportiva Nepal Evo Boot

I purchased these boots to begin Glacier climbing/ trekking where crampons will be required. I wear a 10 to 10-1/2 street and purchased 11-1/12. They come with an extra tongue which I originally did not use and had a bit of heel lift, which adding the tongue solved. Length is perfect where I can kick toe without contact. The construction is high quality and padding is very comfortable and warm. The height of the boot and adjustability of laces works well for me. I have larger calves and narrow ankles which often times is challenging to fit in taller boots. I have these dialed and have been breaking in on some short trails. I am very pleased with the overall fit and confident they will perform very well in intended environment.

Lives Up To The Consensus

These are almost near the top of any mountaineering boot review or recommendation list, and their real world performance lives up to those ratings. They handle automatic crampons perfectly and are excellent on technical ice; at no point did I worry that the crampons might slip, and the full shank gave me huge confidence with every step or kick. The insulation is excellent. With air temps in the single digits, and wind chills well below zero, I was the only member of my Orizaba team that did not have issues with cold toes or feet. Only drawback (and this is a known limitation of any full shank boot) is that non-technical rock and trail hiking is not terribly comfortable.

Great Boot

I bought these for my teenage son who ice climbs. After years of finding second hand boots, we finally came up without an option this year so we went for these. He is thrilled and loves the boot. I thought they would be larger based on some reviews and sizing but they seem to fit truecto euro size.

Epic

Great boot for hitting steep ice! Not the warmest but with a toe warmer you will be slaying ice like it's your 9-5. These aren't meant for Denali but for fun days out climbing ice you can't beat it

Amazing Boot

I been looking forward to purchase this boot for a long time. I only used it one time on the mountain (up to 6000mts) and it worked perfectly fine. Its an amazing boot, really confortable, and tough.

Weather Proof

The quality doesn’t disappoint. They feel comfortable and warm. Sizing is mostly accurate when one leaves thinks of extra space for thick socks and crampons. The inner sole has an arch that may feel awkward until one gets used to it. Lacing is complex as provided laces are short. Bots this heavy require double knots to firmly keep the laces tight. Leather is beautiful and I enjoy the colours. Overall, an excellent warm alpine boot. My last Sportivas lasted 10 years of heavy use and abuse.

Comfortable.

This is the second pair I've had and my feet thank me! I have to admit the first pair were too big and I suffered on long approaches. I oversized thinking my toes would be warmer- I wasn't wrong, but they packed out quickly and fit loose. I then bought the Scarpa Phantom Tech and although they are warmer and lighter they are not as form fitting and comfortable as the Nepal Cube GTX. After a season in the Scarpa's I'm back to the Cube's and I nailed the fit! I was concerned at first because the right fit was snug to say the least. But after a couple short hikes to break them in I love them! And more importantly my feet love them! I fixed the heat issue by changing socks, sometimes twice. Small sacrifice for all day comfort.

First Impressions

Have half a season in these and the impression so far is very positive. The boots are comfortable, no issues with breaking them in, no awkward spots or pressure anywhere. The lacing system let's you dial in fit. Having the little rings lock of the lower half of the boot is quite nice and as long as you double knot the upper section stay tight as well. At lower temps (lower teens) I started to feel a bit cold, especially when belaying, but this is manageable with a double sock or just something thicker. One area which I think could be improved is the amount of space on the crampon lip, it could be a bit deeper. In deeper powder this did not disappoint, absolutely no snow got inside. For sizing I went with a 44 (I'm typically a US 10 in street shoes), and that gave ample room for the foot to move when using crampons without feeling loose in the heel.

Great Boot!

Honestly thought they would be warmer in the harsh conditions

Warmth

These boots are the warmest I’ve been able to find. Also comfortable enough for long hikes in deep snow. Sizing was very accurate. Great overall product.

High Performance Mountaineering Boot.

If you want to have high performance, comfort and warmth in a light weight design, this is the boot for you. Feels great kicking into steep ice with these. The boot is the most important piece of kit. It gets you to the mountains and back home... don't settle for less.

No Other Option!

This has been my favorite mountaineering shoe. I first tried it at the Ouray Ice Festival in CO, and I couldn't go back.

Great Boot. Warm. Light. Worth Every Penny.

Just climbed Mt. Shasta. All the boots they were available for rent didn't fit. I bought these last second and bit the bullet on the price. Totally worth every penny. People in my group are complaining of a sore feet and cold feet and mine were toasty warm and super comfortable.

Review For Nepal Cube Gtx

A great winter ice or heavy snow boot, used for a four day trip to Mount Rainier this summer as well as Ouray ice climbing. Some concern over the durability of the new, thinner sole, however, the weight difference makes up for it. Good crampon fit, although the new sole thickness means you'll have to resize your crampons just s bit.
