Super Nice 6000m Boot

Great boot and huge improvement from my older and heavier Baruntse model. I used these last October to climb Lobuche E, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. My feet were nice and warm for each peak and the boots performed well with an automatic crampon. Have been using them for ice climbing this winter and they climb nicely as well. Light enough and comfortable enough to wear for approaches. Id bet with an overboot theyd be good for higher elevations and colder temps than what I've put them through, which was supposedly -20-40 with wind on Ama Dablam. The BOA system is much better than laces for ease and speed of getting the boots on/off as well.

Nice And Warm For 6000m

I've used these on three 6000+M mountains and I like them a lot. Pretty good walking on rocks, very good walking on ice with crampons, and excellent for ice climbing with crampons. The boa tightens perfectly around my ankle, leg, and top of my foot. The uppers have good flexibility and walking is very comfortable in them. I have narrow feet and they fit great with a thick wooly sock.

Get These If You Can!

I wasn't shopping for mountaineering boots, but when I saw these in my size i had to try them on. They are amazing! Double BOA closures on the inside liner and outside shell. Very comfortable and warm. They do not come with insoles, so I added a pair of Supper Feet and it's a great combination. I have used them on a day of vertical ice climbing and they were great! Paired them with a set Black Diamond automatic Sabre tooth crampons.

Poor Design And Upgrades

I live in Colorado and climb peaks in the winter. Previously used Nepal EVO, but found these were clunky, heavy, and not warm. Upgraded to G2. They are warm and sturdy, but I have had several issues including the development of stage 3 pressure ulcers to bilateral 5th toes with downhill walking and today I experienced severe pain in the ankle area and area slightly above. These boots have an anterior plastic piece inside the boot that is not flexible with walking and causes severe pain. I had to endure this for 10 miles today in the Colorado high country. I’m really disappointed given how expensive these boots are and I’ve worn them 5 times with issues every time I wear them. My friend has a pair of the original G2SMs and tried these on today and immediately experienced the same ankle discomfort. Reported that these are not an upgrade, but a downgrade. Would not recommend.

Very Nice Comfortable Boots!

I recently bought my La Sportiva G2 EVO for the upcoming Aconcagua trip. This pair is very nice. The boots are very well made. They are comfortable to get in and out. I really like the BOA system, making wearing them with gloves so much easier. For reference, I wear US woman 6.5 for normal street shoes. For G2 EVO, I bought size 39.5. It's perfect. I can wear my liner plus medium or thick hiking socks with comfort. It's not heavy at all. Highly recommended.

La Sportiva Still Can't Make Boots That Fit.

You would think that after all of this time La Sportiva would make their boots so that your heel stays in place. I have seen so many people complain that they've tried everything but their heel lifts when walking in them unless they crank the BOA dials to the point where the boot is crushing the top of their foot and it's painful. This was my experience also. I found that by spending 5 to 10 minutes I could dial in the 2 BOA dials to the point where the heel lift wasn't too bad. Who knows maybe if you wear really thick socks or those heel pads that some women use in their high shoes maybe you could eliminate the heel lift. As expensive as these boots are you'd think La Sportiva would make it perfect. Really disappointed. Kind of wish I had bought Scarpas instead now.

Best Ice Climbing Boot

Warm, rigid boot great for Ice climbing. Boa makes for convenient micro adjustment on the approach.

Best Comfort And Isolation

this double boots are really made for the most really freaking cold places. Just awesome, like all La Sportiva footwear. I m going to take them to the Aconcagua in south América, a truely cold and hight mountain

Good Boot

Warm, durable, zero hot spots. Not as warm as Olympus Mons but kept my feet going on Mt Washington in winter (-20 degrees). Much more comfortable than Mons for typical tasks.

Much Lighter And More Nimble Than My Old Pair

I bought these recently to replace my plastic mountaineering boots. I haven't used them yet on a climb but I can tell from using them on a stepper machine that their lighter weight is much less tiring than my old pair. They are also more flexible and less boxy which makes my feet feel more nimble

Great Boots

This purchase was a long time coming. I researched a lot of similar boots by LaSportiva, Scarpa and Lowa. They are very comfortable. The double BOA system allows one to tighten/loosen the boot right where you want, and makes them really quick to put on and take off. So far, I’ve been out in -15F, and they have been plenty warm. I would highly recommend them.

Great Boot, Not Perfect.

Warm, and fairly good fit. I tried these, the Scarpa 6000s and a similar 6000 m boots from Asolo and Lowa before purchasing the G2 EVOs. Came down to the Scarpa 6s and the LS G2s. I got some heel lift in the G2s, but overall they felt better. They're very comfortable uphill, and after some adjusting of the inner and outer BOAs, they work fine on downhills. The bootie dries so fast! You'll want to upsize with these, especially if you use a liner and sock.

Great Boot, Odd Fit

The boots were light, warm, and almost everything you want from a mountaineering boot. I had to send them back because of the uncomfortable plastic piece that inhibits top of the foot articulation. I wound up going with the Scarpa Phantom 8000 instead.

Boots Failed Me,couldn't Remove Them When Climbing

Excited to have this boot on Vinson in January 2021. Fit was ok, warm-ish, but at the end of each day, they were almost IMPOSSIBLE to get off my feet. Each day, I had to get another person (big guy) to pull as hard as they could to get them off my feet, and the inner boot came out with my foot. Tried everything, tried all the adjustments, but this boot is pretty much a fail for me. Want to return them.

Not Made For Womens' Feet

These high volume boots are not made for womens' feet. The boa that should tighten around someone's ankle doesn't even reach mine, providing no support for heel lift (I can't take a smaller size as my toes are in direct contact with the front of the boot). The heel area itself is very large, and seems unlike any other womens' specific La Sportiva shoe. I wish these were made to fit womens' feet, as there aren't many options out there.
