Good Tarp

We are getting ready for a camping trip and bought this as additional protection over our tent. It is lightweight but strong and we are happy with it so far.

Kelty Noah's Tarp

Very durable and easy to set up just big enough 4 person dome tent I recommend the 16x16 instead as it would give you more overhang options and different ways to set it up

Perfect For The Two Of Us

I camp in a hammock with my wife. I’ve been using the Kelty Noah 16’ for several years. I’ve made quantum improvements in my setup in the past several months. I’ve been in my hammock in the backyard under the Kelty for past two months and love it.

Easy!

I am a sailboat cruiser. We use this tarp on the beach, and also as a sun shield on our sailboat. It’s strong with multiple reinforced attachment locations. A great purchase for us.

It’s A Very Large Piece Of Fabric.

Yep. It’s a tarp. It packs up pretty small and is fairly light. The little pockets are nice. It does all the things you’d expect a tarp to do and looks good doing them.

A Good Addition To The Outdoor 'Kit'

It has many features that allow for various set-ups. We already had a variety of poles, so a configuration as pictured will probably be used the most (depending on tree location at a given site). So far, only tried it in the backyard; first trip out with it is still a couple weeks away, but expecting it will perform well. (Already thinking we should have "started" with the 12-footer instead of the nine - will probably get another larger one after this outing...)

Perfect Go To Shelter For The Price

Not the lightest tarp out there, but built to last. I love the guy line storage pockets. Set it up today in about 5 minutes at a public pool where there is no shade. The square shape makes it a bit of a challenge to get all sides tight. But that problem is easily solved with 1 or two tall ridge poles, especially a raft oar and then staking the corners down the the ground. This will go on all my outdoor adventures, in a pack , or in the trunk.

I Like It

It’s pretty dope. Easy to setup. Kept me dry in a rain storm. Built in guy lines made it a breeze.somehow im still 42 characters too short. Idk what more to say it was pretty nice.

Great For Quick Shade On Sw River Trips.

SW rivers often provide little opportunity to escape the intense summer sun. This tarp is well constructed and easy to set up quickly in multiple configurations.

Worth It!

I talk to so many people who say just pick up any old tarp at a hardware store. But why? This tarp is light, easy to use and pack up. The rings and lines already attached makes setup so quick. Also makes a great fort in the living room!

Saved Our Trip

This new one is my second Noah's tarp (okay, my third, I also have a 9 ft one). We got rained on heavily on our kayak trip to Glacier Bay. This tarp saved us, gave us a place to be outside but dry. Thank you Kelty.

Excellent Shelter

We bought this tarp for backpacking. It’s light weight and easy to use. Just a quick, easy up shelter. We can’t wait to use it for a multitude of adventures!

Excellent Tarp

The 9’ tarp is still pretty big and a great size for a standard camp site or small group. Lots of points for attaching clips and guy lines. Fairly light but not super light. Comes with its own carrying bag that it fits into easily.

$$/Function Sweet Spot

I just purchased this in the 9x9. Have used the 12x12 and the 16x16 for a number of years. They’ve changed the color a couple of time but features are unchanged in the time I’ve been using them. Square shape is only way to go. Kudos for configuring this way. So many tarps are rectangular. For a haystack, sure. Fine. For a shelter, the square has far more setup options. There’s heavy tieouts on the four corners and lighter ones along the edges. Well spaced. A little stretch to keep it taught..important in rain. I don’t know if they market this as a rain shelter but that’s all I use it for. The big one if camping next to a car, the 12x12 for rafting. This 9x9 for backpacking. Two lbs may seem like quit a bit to pack for a tarp but covered area is pretty great. And large enough to configure in some version of a ‘storm’ mode if conditions warrant. I have a HMG DCF tarp. It’s 8.5x8.5 with no stretch. Definitely harder to get a taught pitch. It’s light as a feather but that extra half foot per side is more than it sounds on this Kelly. 12% more covered area even though only 6% more length..ya know if you get all STEM about it...I won’t go into costs per square foot between the two and it’s not even really a fair comparison given the different materials used but if your not into packing a piece of square fabric that costs as much as a pair of skis, this is one of the best values out there right now.

Sorta Hard To Figure Out, Needs Seperate Risers.

This is a great shelter but it takes a little bit to figure out how to connect it best to the available mounting spots you've got. You'll also want a pair of tarp risers, but you can use any brand for that.
