Comfy But Not Waterproof
The insoles aren’t great. The K20 insole should be standard. These boots are not waterproof. The dew soaked through this morning while birding for a couple of hours. Very annoying.

Great Boots
So far I really like these boots. The boots were easy to break in and I love the wide toe box. I added insoles for plantar fasciitis and they fit with no problem.

Warm And Waterproof
I work at a local ski area where I’m on my feet for many hours a day in snow, rain, and cold. These boots were warm and amazingly waterproof. I didn’t expect a lace-up boot to be perfectly waterproof, but they didn’t leak for the entire ski season. I recommend them over rubber boots like Bogs that made my get sweaty and cold.

Too Legit
This boot never quits, best boot by far, going into year 3 with heavy usage and they perform as new. A true all season waterproof hiker!

Disappointed
I have had several pairs of Keen hiking boots. The fit is always comfortable. The last pair I owned had sole separation. So when ordering new pair a few months ago I was glad to hear from Keen that the sole issue had been corrected. Today one of the top retainer clips broke off when tying the boot. This boot is effectively ruined. Looking at my precious pair, I can see that the boot string retainer clip has been cheapened and is no longer sewn in place. I should be provided with a new pair!!

Great Quality
The only problem is that in these particular wides it only goes to 15 and I am a size 16. So these shoes I can't purchase even though I would love to buy those hiker running shoes.

Finally Got To Wear Them And Found Out…
The fit is great but I noticed an odd feeling under my right foot, took out the insole and found a large step in the footbed, probably . 050”, the left is smooth and no step. I’ll recommend the boot to others if you can remedy this issue. Sorry and contact me for more information.

Good Boot, Comfortable.
I have the low cut version of this boot which has performed well . I needed a pair of higher hiking boots so tried this boot. I did remove the insole and replaced with a higher arch insole. Boots are very comfortable and offer good support.

Great Hiking Boot
Got these boots for our oldest for a school hiking trip. He was able to handle the trails and finished the trek without having his feet hurt!

Difficult To Size Stuck With Unwearable
I tried a pair of the targhee 4’s mid waterproof in 12 way too tight. So then I tried a pair of the 12 wide I wore around the house 4-5 days. They seem to be OK. Now, after wearing them outside three or four times I find their way too big. I’m slapping around in them and now I’m stuck with them, because I wore them outside. Operator error but I found them difficult to size in the store and at home before venturing outside. My old targhee2’s [ I think ] are 12 wide and fit like a glove for years

Worthwhile Upgrade
These are my first pair of Targhee IV hiking boots after my previous two pairs of Targhee IIIs. The fit and performance of the Targhee IV are definitely worth the upgrade.

Impressed!
I’m a very happy camper and hiker since I got my Keen Targhee lV. As comfortable as any hiking boot, I have ever owned well worth the price. Keen has a new Customer for life! Will be trying these out this weekend on a lower leg of the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina. Come on get your boots on…. ; D

Light Weight Hiking Boot
“Light weight” is a good description if you mean it to be light duty. First, the boot is very comfortable, great for walking around on even terrain. Not so good on rocky, uneven terrain—too flexible. For rugged terrain, Keen would need to stiffen the boot, specifically, provide better torsional stiffness. It might add weight but it would be a better backpacking boot. As it is, it provides no more support than a sneaker. Nonetheless, it is truly light in weight and a joy to wear out of the box. Big toe box but sizing runs small. Get one size up from your normal shoe size.

Uncomfortable
There is a lump on the left side, bottom of the tongue that presses into the arch on the top of my foot. It becomes very painful in short order. I need to move the tongue off to the side and this helps. Also a large band aid on the top of my foot also helps. Other than that, they are comfortable.
