Ever since I found these sandals and ordered them I felt in love with the way they look, the protection it offers plus the freedom because of the way the straps are separated HOWEVER, I have very WIDE feet and to enter my foot through the opening was almost impossible because the opening is not too flexible or stretchy. At the end, after trying so many times to stretch them out, I had to return them. I wish they consider using a more stretchy/flexible material to allow actual wide feet enjoy the comfort and look these sandals seem to offer…

I have been wearing this exact sandal for nearly 30 years now - too long count. It has been great. The recent purchase however has been a challenge. The sizing (Made in India) is quite different from the previous sandals. I think the build and materials are probably superior to previous versions, but I have struggled to get a good fit. In my shoe closet are a half-dozen Keen shoes, this is the 1st time I have been remotely disappointed. The opening for SIZE 13 W barely, barely allows room to get them on. ALL other Keens in my closet are size 12.

The wetsuit material (neoprene) that lines the inside top and sides of the sandals is too warm and causes my feet to sweat. Also, in the toe box, the inside sole is textured, so it grabs the skin of my large toe's fleshy pad, causing a blister.

So I have foot issues. I'm a woman that wears a men's 9 in most good shoe brands. Using the 'find my size' tool on the website, I should wear a 9 in these too. Not so much. A regular men's 9 is SUPER narrow in these so I had to go through the hassle of reordering. The wide size is comfy right out of the box, but the shoes are heavy. Plus they should come with a Sharpie to black out the ridiculous caution logo on the rubber fronts. It's embarrassing and wholly unnecessary. I used a marker to make it as least noticeable as possible. It's the best you can do honestly. If I could dig it out completely without compromising the shoes, I absolutely would. But you cant. But for my feet to not hurt, I'll deal with a little bit of what I assume to be decorative nonsense.

Ordered a 7 W. The opening into the sandal was so narrow, I had to yank and tug to get my foot into the opening. Once in, the sandal seemed to be wide enough for my foot, but returned because the design of the opening would accommodate a Wide foot!

These are my everyday footgear, lightweight on my feet and toughest I’ve worn. Great fit and easy to adjust if necessary.

Love them. Toe cap is superior design to 15 years ago. Fit perfectly.

I used to love Keen candles until they decided to make them narrower. I have moved away from Keen completely until I heard about the wide size. They truly are comfortable “out of the box”. My wife would like to see wide sizes as well.

This is the second pair I've had. The first pair lasted 15+ yrs and I'm still wearing them I just got a new pair because my wife said the old ones were looking a little rough for going out. These sandals are as tough as a tank.

Thank goodness they now make these in wide. I tried a size up in the normal width sandal and it was awful. These fit great once broken in. At first, I thought they were a tad tight, but after days of wearing them not a problem anymore.

I’ve been wearing jeans Newport sandals for 20 years. I’ve always ordered women’s size 9 leather leather and only leather. Well they don’t make them anymore so even though I’m size 9 women I ordered these Newport wide leather sandals in the men’s size 8 they’re absolutely perfect slightly wide not bad because I wear them iwith socks. I found the price is very reasonable and then they offered me a chance to buy two more pair of any keen sandals and get 20% off. I took advantage of that within one week.

I worked all over the world working mostly in international humanitarian programs and working with the poorest of the poor in the world. I like the work. I needed good sturdy waterproof and rot proof sandles like the original leather KEENS I first saw people wearing at a state fair in Sept of 2005 and I ordered my first pair. I’ve ordered many leather KEEN Sandles over the years. I would get nice comments traveling from anywhere in USA OR from DRC or Egypt or ETHIOPIA or MADAGASCAR to PAKISTAN or Comoros or Zanzibar. From Capetown to Kitabas island or Tarawa or Capers Islsnd to K-Bay on Oahu my KEENS would normally last me 6-8 years before I had to replace them, but I alway give them away to somebody along my journeys in life. I told Bill Gates how great they are when I wore them while doing a wedding he attended at the space needle. I didn’t even know who he was back in 1998. He said to call him William, and he would call me Sonny. I told Saquelle O’Neil and his mama when I talked with them, that I liked my KEENS and I thought they were Cool… when I was talking cool shoes. His uncle told me he was a good basketball player too, but I didn’t follow B-ball. I just work to make peoples life better. My KEENS take me there…. And bring me home safely.

Great for hiking, walking and working. Runs a little tight, bit once you wear it for a week or so, fits perfect.

The quality and feel are out standing just size up.

I have two other pairs of Keens in size 9W and they fit me perfectly. These, however, I couldn't even put on - they were literally shorter than my feet. The box and the labels inside each shoe all say "9W", but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were mislabeled 6s or 7s or something. In the attached photo, on the left is a Keen Targhee size 9W. On the right is a Keen Newport size 9W.
