Outer tent fabric is Kerlon 1200 and the poles are 9 mm, which makes the tent very lightweight, strong and stable
All season construction tent wall can be extended to ground and the mesh area is backed with an adjustable fabric panel
Dome construction with multiple crossing pole points provide excellent stability for snow-load handling capability
Used ideally as a one person tent
Separable inner and outer tent for simultaneous pitching
Self supporting dome design requires no pegs for pitching
Tent contains pole system that makes for quick and easy set up
Single entrance tent with single vestibule configuration allows for easy entrance and storage space
Add an optional footprint that will cover the outer tent area including the vestibule. It can directly connect to the tent, and can be attached while pitching.
The complete tent's outer or inner tents can be used separately. For the pitching the inner tent alone it requires optional pole holders.
Designed for short and long trips in less harsh environments and conditions in all seasons like the forests in winter and summer
Great for withstanding heavy storms, but the lighter weight is not ideal on super harsh extended trips
Capable of withstanding heavy storm conditions, and the lighter weight is why some experienced hikers take this along instead of a more durable, heavier tent
Outer tent goes all the way to the ground for awesome all weather protection
Designed using lighter weight zippers as well as lighter weight inner tent and floor fabrics to keep the weight at a minimum

Excellent Tent
I bought this tent a few months ago for a pacific north west late season backpack hunt. Hilleberg has lived up to its name thus far. The second day in I awoke to about 3 inches of snow on the tent. With a gentle tap on the tent walls the snow fell right off. Condensation was mentioned in a lot of reviews for this tent. As long as you are diligent about ventilation you can keep condensation to a minimum. I never opened the top vent, but I did leave the inner tent door configured with just the mesh as the outer tent and vestibule touches the ground, there is no need to close the inner tent door. This reduced condensation to a mere few drops on the top of the tent. Which could have probably been eliminated all together if I opened the top vent. Something else I think is noteworthy, I am on the taller side and my sleeping pad and bag were slightly touching the walls of the tent. Typically on a single layer tent, this can pull moisture inside. However, on this Hilleberg, there is an outer tent as well, which I think prevented that phenomenon from occurring as there was no moisture on my feet or head after several nights in the tent of barely touching the walls during sleep. I would highly recommend this tent to anyone in a higher precipitation, high wind or very cold environment. One night was very windy and the temperature dipped into the teens. I remained very comfortable in this tent. I am very pleased with the performance and ease of setup with this tent.

Truely 4-season Tent
I have bought this specifically for winter camping in mountains. Based on many reviews in the internet this tent has a solid reputation. Have not had chance to try in outdoor yet. The price is very high. It took me couple of years to make a decision to buy the tent.

When You Need The Best.
If you are going to be in harsh conditions, this is it. Small enough when packed, holds up to insane winds and snow. I’ve had this for years and have never regretted the purchase. You just can’t go wrong with this for a winter tent.

Used For 2 People Mountaineering
I borrrowed this exact tent from a tent for me and a friend to use for our whole climbing season in the PNW on multiple snow camp outs and summits to Baker and Rainier. There was not a lot of room for 2 people as it is a solo tent, but we made it work for 2 people (sleeping pads, gear and all) and had a system down. Our first campout was a hard slap and tons of laughter and a steep learning curve that we had to figure this out, and we did and it was not an issue later. It was very easy to haul up as it weighed next to nothing and my tent mate would carry the poles and footprint and I the tent. Everything was easy to setup and it kept us warm on those cold nights and cool enough when vented on the days where you’re resting to gear up later. It was easy to clean and shake off and never kept an odor and easily dried out after a long weekend in the snow. We did wish it had a second door and vestibule, but we did just fine. We tripped over the black strap connected to the vestibule a few times but we figured out how to cover it and avoid it. All in all it was worth it. We both are 5’9” athletic built women to give an idea.

Quite Sturdy And Easy To Setup.
Overall a really good tent, but can get very messy if setup in rainy weather. It is a lso a bit difficult to dry and clean. However it is very sturdy, light and very easy to setup.

Great One Person Tent
I feel cozy and warm in the Soulo. The tent is quite heavy for a one-person tent, although pack size is good, and the level of performance it offers is more than most of us really need outside of summit camping in a storm.

Brilliant Design!
I bought this tent a few weeks ago now, and I've already put it the test in 80km/hour winds, heavy snowfalls, and some freezing rain! It didn't even flinch! It went up very quickly (I had done a practice run in my living room before heading out), and with no diffculty. I cooked in the vestibule with the vent down, and experienced no condensation issues throughout the night. Temperature was around -24 degrees, and the Soulo kept the tent space noticeably warmer than outside— best winter camping sleep I've ever had. Do yourself a favour, and buy this tent of a lifetime. You won't regret it.

I Want To Love This Tent...
I purchased this tent to be my winter tent. This means snow, storms, and cold all at or above tree line. I had it out last week for two nights and we had a lovely overnight storm that proved a great test. First I off, I love the construction. Have you ever gotten a piece of equipment and new right of way you liked it? It is like that. The tent is very well thought out and well constructed. It has to be one of the quickest-to-pitch, freestanding tent I've ever set up. Performance for the most part was great. We had continuous 30-40 mile an hour winds with gusts of about 80-100 MPH winds in addition to over a foot of snow. The exact conditions I purchased the tent for. And it was vey, very stable. It never sagged, hardly shook in the guts, and gave my nothing to worry about as far as the wind or falling snow. The downside is the lack of ventilation. I couldn't leave the outside door open, the base all around the tent had spindrift, and snow was getting under the vent cover making it so I could not leave that open. This lack of ventilation created as much moisture on the inner yellow tent as the outer shell. So with very shake of the wind, mist would drop onto my sleeping bag. I've never had so wet of a sleeping bag (although it help up well). Everything within the inner tent was wet. I have an email out to Hilleberg asking for tips to improve but my opinion is that what I experienced is simply reality and something unavoidable regardless of tent. If that is true, then I really should have opted for a 2P tent to have more room since it is very hard to not touch the inner sides of the Soulo. In conclusion, I think it is a great, well-built tent but due to ventilation issues, is too small on the inside to be comfortable. I will update with what I learn from Hilleberg when I get a reply.

Best Light Weight 4 Season Solo Tent
I was skeptical about spending more than $500.00 on a tent and getting additional value and not just a brand name. I came across hilleberg while researching 4 season tents online. There are not many places you can see this product in person which was really nerve racking when I pulled the trigger. I don't think i would have bought it if Hilleberg didn't have the pitching viedos and extensive specifications posted on their site. The three most important attributes of the tent that sealed the deal are: - self supporting - entry vestibule - bath tub floor I was a little skeptical about the packability and ease of pitching. So far I've used this tent on two expeditions. In the humid deciduous forest of the notheast and the dusty high desert in the western states. In both climates the tent performance was flawless. The rain is no issue and the multiple tie downs remove dangers of high winds. The provided stuff sack for the tent and poles was much bigger than i needed. I removed the poles and stakes (each provided with their own bags) and packed the tent into an 11ltr. Compression sack. This makes the tent extremely small relative to its performance and function. The three poles fit in outer pockets on my pack and the stakes are small enough to pack in accessory pockets. The pitching it actually quite easy. Two primary reasons for this- 1 the poles are extremely high quality and the elastic cords within are have excellent tension. 2 the poles are not fed through long sleeves but slipped into end pockets and then connected to the tent fabric with clips. Since the tent is self supporting you can pitch it anywhere and the tie down lines allow to tie off to rocks if the surface you are pitching on is too hard to stake. I did purchase and attach the hilleberg ground sheet before both trips. I think its essential for the function of the entry vestibule and it helps protect the inner tent. With an investment as large as this, I believe every effort should be made to prolong the operating life of the product. In summary - packability can be achieved by purchasing a compression sack. Pitchability is the easiest I have ever experienced. So far all field use has proven the performance and function claims made by hilleberg. I am so impressed with this product that I am getting this as a gift for someone else later this year.
