After the first two Hilleberg items passed the test, I figured I would more than likely be purchasing more. Operating in the eastern Alaska range, Talkeetna Range, as well as the White Mountains in the northern interior of Alaska, I can confirm this newest product, the Anjan 2GT holds true to the high standards that Hilleberg sets for its tents. I have a Nammatj 3GT, as well as a tarp 5. I’ve taken the Nammatj 3GT up Denali twice, and it did beautiful. I took the tarp 5 up Mt Rainier a few years back. I particularly love the vestibules of these tubular style tents though, giving enough room for gear, for cooking, for dogs, so many things. I can keep my stuff out of the weather, and if I need something inside, I only have to reach over and grab it. What I noticed about this tent was it had optimal weight, about 4lbs without some of the parts like bags and stakes. It packs super small. I have a brown colored tent, and it seems to accept the sunlight nicely opposed to the green that rather sheds it out, so pick your poison. Compared to a regular Anjan 2, I feel like the 2GT has a roomier vestibule, which was great for the hail storm I just endured two days ago because I had everything protected. The door zipper is a straight slit down, opposed to some others where it’s more of a hoop design, and it was more than spacious to get in and out of. Plenty of airflow and ventilation though. There is a top zipper to allow to vent if you want to cook a little, or let out some condensation from the night. The door flap can be drawn back and secured. It’s for sure a 2-person, and I will gladly endorse this as a backpacking or hunting tent. It’s so easy to pitch and strike, it literally took 5min in a thunderstorm, and then we (along with all our gear) we’re dry.
