Nice Overnight Or Multi-night Pack

Not the best day pack because it is too big, but it is a great multi-day pack , which is what i got it for. Carries snowboard, skis, and all your gear with ease. Easy to access items in the bottom through side zipper access. Multiple pouches for items like probe, helmet, etc. Great back country pack.

Not Just For Winter

Beach sand also brushes off the snow shedding backpanel and the easily removable frame and suspension components conform with airline carry-on requirements and permits this medium capacity backpack to serve as a day pack while traveling. Lotta functionality and durability built into this one.

Fastrack Is Awesome! Somethings Are Weird

The FastRack System is AWESOME! I love it. The over-all design of the pack is great! My Avy gear fits great. Definitely enough room for more than a single day mission. Lots of loops to clip things too. Hip pocket for stashing snacks. My one complaint is how this pack is cut. Its got a semi-hard backing, which is really nice and feel sturdy, but the pack doesn't "sit up" like any other pack I have. It wont stand on its own...and often falls over. My GF has a woman's specific Gregory pack touring. It doesn't have the FastRack, but the over-all pack feels, and functions, just like any other pack she has. I dn't know why THIS pack is designed differently. Over-all I like this pack. Holds my gear, fits nicely, feels comfortable when I'm wearing it. I'm just super annoyed that when I put it down, it topples over, unlike any other pack I have. Spent 3d/2n on a hut trip 40lb pack was quite uncomfortable. I'm not a huge fan of the hip belt and how they did the back of the pack. It carried heavy on the shoulders. Also, took tumble on a downhill skin and the plastic buckle failed on the hip strap. Voile strap to the rescue. However, I would expect more from a pack marketed as "multiday" Ultimately I don't think it's a bad pack.... Just not to my liking

Solid Pack For Day Trips.

I like the pack overall, comfortable and roomy enough for anything you need to carry on most day trips. Could use some design improvements too make it 5 star though. Good: The compartment for shovel/probe is also big enough to store wet items/skins and other things you want separate from extra layers and other dry items. The fast track carry system seems functional and sturdy, havent used it yet and it stores away nicely if you arent using it which is a plus if you dont like extra straps flapping around. I have a bad shoulder, so it will definitely improve boot packs that are too long to comfortably shoulder skis but too short to want to take off the pack and set up a traditional ski carry. Could be better: Not a huge fan of how the helmet carry comes out the top of the equipment storage area. It makes it sit weirdly on the helmet and the hooks seem like they may come undone. It also seems to impact how securely that storage area closes up which could be bad for safety equipment. The Bad: The chest strap height can be changed by moving it between attachment points on the shoulder straps. This is very easy to do, but the strap also can come off those loops very easily as well. Mine apparently fell off when removing my pack for digging a test pit and I had to use a ski strap to secure the pack across the chest for the ski down. The strap turned up eventually, but thought it was lost for good. I will figure out a way to ensure it doesnt fall off the pack if it comes detached again.
