Shout out to Gerber and their warranty. I got this for a gift for Christmas. Had an issue with the cutters not cutting properly. I just received my new center drive today and it works flawlessly! I am an Automotive mechanic/ teacher. This tool is on my hip daily working on cars. It is perfect for all my needs. The one handed opening has saved me multiple times. The pliers are amazingly strong. The pry bar feature is perfect for push clips or small Christmas tree clips. The center drive is a tool I rely on. I’m proud that it is made in the USA. Thank you Gerber for all you do. This is why I’ll always buy and trust a Gerber multitool. It is worth every dollar I paid for it. Would recommend to anyone that wants a heavy duty multi tool

Bulky and heavy for multitool, not really impressed with the over all function of it for what it cost. I find myself using my cheaper multitools over this one.

Very nice tool, went with custom black case and it has the legendary Gerber quality and reliability! I have owned only a handful of these tools for 30 years. I still have all of them!

This tool was exactly what I was looking for and the custom colors turned out really good! The only complaint is the leather case being lighter than what is advertised. Other than that it’s amazing.

This tool is amazing. Best multi-tool I’ve come across. However I managed to break my blade and can’t seem to figure out how to get a replacement for it. Any help would be appreciated.

Great tool just got to replace my no 600 of 25 years old love the center drive with changeable bits and being able to use any standard but is a plus love you can get to the blade and the drive with out opening it some of the reviews state the cutters won’t cut small wire I have found you just need to use the upper part of the cutter for the bottom part is notched for stripping have not had a problem cutting any wire with it seen some reviews saying bits don’t fit in sheath or tool flap won’t go over first couple of days top was a little tight now fits right in not a problem have not had them long enough to speak for the cutting blades breaking but I imagine like everyone who has ever had a multie tool we use them for more than the intended purpose and yes I’m sure they will break but they are replaceable so no big deal and far as people saying won’t cut braided line get the set with the scissors they work fine for it

Great tool very happy with my recent purchase of the black Gerber center drive. Comes in handy everyday as a maintenance tech I use the center drive daily. I even use the nail puller to remove faulty wheels from bifold doors👍

It would benefit trades people if you offered trade specific bit sets.I added a 1/4" and a 5/16" magnetic bits from Milwaukee to my bit kit I carry daily.I work in the HVAC industry. These additions are indispensable to and HVAC tech; as they allow you to access 99% of the equipment we work on any given day.

Had this or similar model for well over 30 years; saved my bacon while flying down Aleutian Chain when cowling started coming apart. Use it many times each time its carried and an earlier model is in each of my trucks.

This is an upgrade to my last Gerber. Great fit and finish. The center drive idea was a great upgrade and the bits work perfectly.

Given that I prefer multitools from Portland’s top brand, I didn’t have high expectations when buying the Center Drive. However, I am pleasantly surprised. The biggest advantage of this multitool is undoubtedly the Bit Driver. I’ve had the chance to try out dozens of multitools, but this one stands out as top-tier in terms of basic equipment. The pry bar is also very well designed. Another highlight of the Center Drive is the pliers and large knife. The pliers’ deployment is the classic Gerber style that we all love. However, a major limitation is the wire cutters. They’re made of a very hard but brittle material, so this needs to be kept in mind. Cutting soft copper wires poses no issues, but if you want to cut hard steel wire, the material and diameter will be critical. It’s easy to exceed the load capacity the cutters can handle, and they might shatter into a million pieces, which is a big shame. Another flaw is the secondary bit holder. In the closed position, it acts as a stopper for the pliers, limiting their grip. If you want to use the pliers with full force, you’ll sometimes need to fold the holder out of the way so it doesn’t interfere with the grip. Lastly, I would change the serrated blade. Its use is again very limited by its placement. Instead, I’d opt for something like a saw or, ideally, a holder for saw blades with the T-Bosch system. And if I wanted to be nitpicky, the file could have a serrated edge. To sum it up, the Gerber Center Drive is a very well-made and solid multitool that stands out from the mundane with its stylish design. If you primarily need reliable pliers, a large knife, and excellent screwdrivers, this multitool is perfect for you! In such a case, there’s a good chance you’ll be more than satisfied. However, if you need scissors, a saw, a diamond file, or other extras, you won’t find them here, and you’ll need to rethink your priorities or look elsewhere. SUMMARY: Pros of the Gerber Center Drive: 1. Bit Driver – Clearly the star of the tool. Thanks to its quality and design, the Center Drive is highly versatile and suitable for various screwing tasks. 2. Large Knife – Its size and practicality are another significant advantage. 3. Sturdy Pry Bar – A pleasant bonus that’s not always standard in multitools. 4. Pliers – A hallmark of Gerber multitools, the easy and intuitive deployment is definitely a plus. Cons and Limitations: 1. Wire Cutters – While the pliers are a strong feature, the wire cutters are made from a brittle material, which limits their use. They are ideal for soft wires but require caution with harder ones. 2. Secondary Bit Holder – Its placement restricts the pliers’ grip, which can be inconvenient. 3. Serrated Blade – The utility of this type of blade is limited, and the absence of a saw or a more versatile accessory system (e.g., T-Bosch) is noticeable. 4. Missing Tools – For users who need more advanced tools like scissors, a file, or a saw, this multitool lacks sufficient versatility.
