Good Design, Disappointed Performance

I've bought this jacket with great expectation, but the result is underwhelming. I have no trouble with zipper, the design it is very functional, the two mesh pocket inside are very practical and useful. Now the negative. There is some cheap fleece inside the lower pockets on the outside, but for unknow reason this light fleece is present only on the outer side, and there is no padding between your hand and the outside fabric, so forget to keep your hand nice and warm in cold days there. Now the major weakness of jacket, the G1000 used is not even water repellant and too much "breathable with stock wax. in windy days around freezing the jacket suffer a lot to keep your warm. the wind cool off your body a lot, passing thought the jacket too much for a winter jacket. In calm day around 0 C or a bit under it is ok, but how many day in winter are dry, no wind for all the day ? at regular price it is way overpriced for the optimal use. With a good quality fleece, putting padded on the outer side of lower pockets , swapping this archaic G1000 with a modern windproof and must stronger water resistant /proof or putting at least a membrane under like with the nuuk, this jacket can be a winner. it is very stylish. Maybe a padded waterproof version ?

No Hanging Loop!

A really nice jacket, but... I’d never expect to see such a premium jacket without a hanging loop! Are we supposed to carry hangers around with us? It’s honestly the most inconvenient thing I’ve ever discovered on clothes I’ve bought...and guess what...the unpadded version which is much lighter and packable, has a hanging loop! Something else I don't really like is the velcro fasteners on the sleeves. They are bit more convenient than metallic buttons, but they are also a cheap-ish feature choice on a non-cheap product. Guess what...the unpadded version, also has buttons instead of cheap velcro fasteners. It's confusing. These are my two main complaints...and some threads that stick out in 1 place along the seam. I hope I won't find more.

Terrible Zipper In A Great Jacket

I had this jacket for 3 years and I really loved it, though I would keep it for many years, but the zipper often got stuck until it broke one day. When I got a replacement, the zipper broke in the same way again in less than a month. For such a great Jacket to have a zipper this bad is a shame, and doesn't exactly give the image of quality this brand is known for.

Great Jacket

I purchased this jacket towards the end of December. I had the opportunity to shovel snow in the cold immediately and this jacket was very warm, even in the wind. I the fit is great and very true to size. I even purchased wax for the outside of the jacket for further water and wind proofing though I have not applied the wax as of yet. It's a minor detail but the hood fits very well. It does not fall back in the wind as it stays snug once adjusted. I've had no issues with the zipper. The only odd thing is zipper clasp is on the left side as opposed to the right. It takes some getting used to but otherwise, no issues. This is a great jacket. The team in Cranberry was very helpful as the jacket was not coming up in their system right away. Their customer service was amazing.

Horror ...

in one word very bad and poor quality jacket ... worn out on many places in less than a year, and I would absolutely not recommend this jacket to anyone ... shame for so much money ...

Not Worth The Money

I have got very high expectations from this jacket, but unfortunately it was not good for me: Fit was not good, I usually order S or M, I had to order XS to fit me! what is even worse worse, after one wash it totally got distroyed, color has been washed out, it looked very old even it was farely new. Using this "stupid" wax system for water resistance and care; it is a big mess, hassle and it keep stains, and have a feeling it making more harm than good. and without it, it is not water resistant. very disappointed!

Great Jacket. Questionable Shipping

Jacket is warm and very high quality. Shipping method however was terrible. Jacket was overstuffed into a thin polybag and had been torn up upon delivery with some minor damage to the jacket.

Hockey&blizzards

I purchased this about a month ago. I have really enjoyed the comfort and warmth of this jacket. I have 3 sons in hockey and I live in central Alberta so I can say I’ve put this jacket to the test! I can happily confirm that the advertised features stand true and I am very pleased with the overall quality. I see some feedback disgraces against the zipper but, I haven’t any issues.

Revised Review - Tear After One Month

I have to change my review from four to one stars. Very disappointed to report a tear on the top of the shoulder after only a few weeks with this coat. No hard use, literally just walking down the street and out shopping with my wife. Obviously I can't recommend that anyone buy this parka at this price point. Sadly, this is not what I paid for. I will not buy another Fjallraven product. Overall a great jacket. Fits true to size and very warm. Unfortunately the zipper is terrible as others have said. I like that there is plenty of length in the arms as I am a knuckle dragger. Pockets are large and well placed. I have worn this coat in Canadian blizzards with wind chills at -30C and always fell warm. I do think there could be more adjustability at the cuffs as it is difficult to cover gloves and mitts to keep out snow and water but this isn't enough to complain about. Use a tougher, larger gauge zipper and this jacket could be perfect.

Poor Quality Double Zipper

This could easily be a 5 star jacket, but the main closer device, the double zipper, is poorly made. I should have been leery of some of the negative reviews. As most refer to the zipper being the worst part of the jacket. Fjallraven, please do better, and add a more robust zipper, and one that is a lot easier to close. I have owned several other double zipper jackets, ones from reputable brands, and others from bargain manufacturers, and they’ve all had better zippers than this jacket. I will be returning this jacket, and I don’t recommend it until Fjallraven fixes the zipper issue.

Winter Sorted!

Incredible quality. Great fit. Won’t be cold this winter. So many compliments.

Warm And Durable, But Filling Keeps Coming Out.

I've had this jacket for two years and it's great. It's been to Japan with me in holidays during the winter months and with a wool base layer it kept me warm in around 16°F with some wind and snow. My one big gripe with this jacket is the filling keeps sticking out if the top layer. This makes it look like I have more pets than I do and it makes it difficult to look clean as the polyester fibers are always sticking out and looking like pet hairs. I've never had an issue with zippers, I don't know if I should consider myself lucky because of it.

Awesome Jacket

Live in New England and have had this jacket going on two yrs now. I can’t recommend it enough. Fits great, superb quality, and has broken perfectly

Awful Quality Zip

As others have said, the zipper is awful. Mine broke within one season.

Warmest Jacket I've Ever Owned

I've owned a lot of jackets over the years. Helly Hansen, Eddie Bauer, Spyder, Khul, Mammut, etc. This is by far the warmest jacket I've ever owned. Even at 30-35 degrees (F) I sometimes find myself unzipping it as it is too much insulation. I've worn it out to about 5 degrees with only a light sweater under it and was not even slightly cold. There are more technical jackets out there if you're looking for backcountry skiing stuff but if you're just looking for something to keep you warm around town, winter hiking, or sledding with your kids, you can't beat this. Also looks great and super comfortable.
