Great Color

I just bought this jacket and I really love the shade of blue of the jacket. It does run large. My one complaint is that the picture makes the buttons/hardware appear black which would look much better than that brass color that they actually are. The contrast between the vibrant blue and the black buttons would be very striking. Also the zipper is on the wrong side for some reason. I am going to go to a tailor to have this switched to the other side.

Zippers On The Wrong Side

Great jacket, except why is the zipper on the wrong side? It's on the left. All of my other jackets the zipper is on the right. Small frustration!!

Received incentive

Excellent Quality

A but pricey, but you get what you pay for. I anticipate many useful service years from this jacket. I wanted a trim fit, and got it for my 6’1”, 215lbs frame at a size L. Bought and XL before and it was too big.

Everyday Outdoor That Works!

Purchased my Raven in Dusk last summer, and used it last fall, and getting a lot of use this spring for everyday outdoor use as advertised. It was my first purchase with the brand, and I love the jacket after years of never having a suitable transition jacket. Although I normally fit in size large, the medium fits great on me (5'9, 190lbs), with ample space for layering. I'm from Ottawa, Canada and I've found that the jacket excels in the 5C-18C range, depending on conditions. With good layering like my down vest and/or merino base layers, I've worn it down to 0C if there's not too much windchill, but around there I tend to switch to my Greenland Winter. Not much experience in anything more than light rain for short periods. Fit, fasteners, colour, and design/style are my favourite aspects of the jacket. Minor points, but a metal zipper and slightly lower collar without the hidden hood that I don't expect to use would have made this jacket perfect, but it doesn't bother me, and I look forward to many years of use!

Fancy Peasant Jacket

Why I called it "Fancy peasant jacket"? Because it is styled like every day work clothes of people from 1995 or so, but nowdays hipsters like me like to wear them like casual daily clothes :) I bought this as warm weather casual everyday top layer on top of T-shirt. After wearing this a bit it meets my expectations- it is light, but durable. Looks good for every day wear- I like all the metal buttons and pronounced pockets. I choose Dusk colour- it looks interesting, in real light more blue than grey. Cuffs can be adjusted nicely with button if You want to roll up to elbow and keep it there. At back near shoulders there is nice bellows like inlaid that allows for wide range of motion- really comfortable and is different from other similar jackets. Cons: - drawcord at waist is just a string without any elastic or element that would hold string in place- when I draw it in to adjust for tighter fit then I get 12cm string hanging on each end and I just don't know what to do with it now? :D - Folded hood looks functional, but why is it different colour than jacket? All jacket is from G1000 and can be waxed if waterproofing is needed, but this hood is different seemingly water repellant material. So I might get less rain on my head, but definitely no fancy points. Minus one star :D

Great Jacket For Spring And Autumn

Like the big pockets and the G1000 material for this jacket.

Weird Sizing

This jacket deserves 5 stars, just be aware that the sizing is off. The Raven jacket is huge, especially if you wear it with only t shirt. Accordingly, I had to size down.

Favorite Jacket. Moto Approved!

I wear this on my windshieldless moto going 70-89 mph and it does the job on windblocking. When it rained, it keep deflecting rain. I wear a merino thermal, my casual, moto protective shirt, and my thermal heated liner, which I don't have to turn on the heated liner at these temps because of the windblocking and having gear insulate the heat inside. I love this field jacket; my favorite jacket. I want to buy a more expensive jacket here, but this one was beautiful to pass up. Its big for sure for my 5'5 stature at Medium, but I have full range of motion with all my gear on underneath and that's awesome. Buy it! worth it!

Durable, Classic Style

Great jacket for those of us living in the Southeast US. was able to wear comfortably down to around 50 degrees F with only a lightweight cotton flannel shirt underneath. You can go much colder if you have a suitable insulation or base layer underneath. I bought in dusk for a classic style yet unique colorway that stands out among your standard olive or khaki surplus jackets. The G1000 softens up a bit with wear. Supposedly water resistant, but I would caution against wearing if more than a light sprinkle is in the forecast.

Nothing But Solid Work

Nothing on this jacket is disappointing. The hood actually rolls back up into the collar. It is great against the wind and rain while on bike. The tie downs on the inside keep all the heat inside. While I haven't used the pockets much yet I know they'll be great for gloves and hats this winter.

Versatile And Stylish

I’ve bought it in Dusk, and I like this jacket. Traditional Fjallraven durability is combined with a timeless military M65 style. One may wear it on a trail, around a city, and even in an office in a casual look. Also, it is perfect for traveling due to the multiple big pockets. This makes the jacket very versatile. A rolled hood can be a lifesaver in a wind or light shower rain. I’m 5’11” (180 cm) 163 lb (74 kg), and M fits me well.

Raven Coat

Well worth every penny I know it's expensive but you have to think of it less as a coat and more like a wearable Volvo that is very well made, very robust and will provide excellent service for years. I wer mine walking the dog and bird watching in all weathers and have done so for years without any drama's Well done Fjall Raven a company that makes kit that lasts with a thought for the environment, Keep up the good work.

Great Jacket

Have the black version and all I can say is wow! Very nice clean simple look to it. Jacket is more than nice enough to wear while out in town if one choose to do so.Quality is top-notch indeed, so no worries there and surely will last a very long time no doubt.

Great Jacket

I bought this a few years ago and have worn it hiking in autumn and spring, chopping wood while snow falls and in the city on a cold day. With a good mid-layer, it holds up down to the 20's and 30's (F) if you're doing mid to high-output activity. Looks as good as the day I bought it. Recommend!

Fantastic - Durable And Versatile

For years, I saw Fjallraven gear and was always hesitant because of the somewhat steep price across the board. Pulled the trigger on this in August, and have worn it as a New England / Massachusetts fall jacket over flannels and some light base layers and have now made it through almost the entire winter with a base layer + mid layer puffer and its the perfect jacket. I'm a 5'7" 155lb, and the small is a great size with some room on its own but allows the perfect amount of space for a puffer to fit underneath very very comfortably. I'm fully converted to a Fjallraven fan, and feel like they truly make "buy-it-for-life" material products.
