I wasn't sure I was going to like these pants because they had no stretch and some of the reviews were worrying. However, these have become my new favorite everyday pants because they do well what they were designed for: city-life and light outdooring. Pros: > The fabric is very light, so it performs well in the heat and dries incredibly quick. > The cut fits me perfectly and bends and eases in all the correct places, allowing a freedom of movement that I was not expecting at all given that there's no stretch to the fabric. > There's a clever pleat in the back and cargo pockets that lays flat when not in use but can expand (very slightly) just to give a little more room for storage; very neat. > There's a small "coin pocket" in the right front pocket that's perfect to carrying Airpods. > There's are smaller belt loops hidden beneath the larger ones, so those with thick or thin belts can get a good fit. It's a small detail but it's a nice one. Cons: > Because the fabric is so light, it gets wet QUICK. It also dries quick so it's not the end of the world, but you'd definitely be unhappy in sustained rain. You could wax them though if you really wanted. > The "fossil" colorway eventually shows scuff marks from normal wear, even after washes. It's not terrible, and could be considered a patina, but if you're the type who wants crisp clothing all the time, you might consider a darker colorway. > I haven't had any issues with the zipper, but when I first got the pants, they seemed to need some extra attention when zipping them otherwise it felt like it might break. Again, I haven't had any issues, but I wonder if a button-fly would be better. Conclusion: > I love these pants and given the price I hope they last for years to come (for their intended use). The cut allows for a surprising range of movement (I'm talking full deep squats), they breathe well and dry quick. > The only improvements I could think of would be a button-fly (maybe) and pockets high on the hip to slip in a smartphone.

Bought these a couple of months ago. They are super comfortable and look good. The quality feels good and I have not complaints yet. I did not buy these expecting them to be rugged outdoor pants, but for casual wear at work and around town. I think if you expect rugged pants, there are better options to meet that expectation.

All the negative reviews misinterpret the purpose of this product. These trousers are fantastic and unique!!! (and I'm not paid by Fjalraven to say this :) ). I wanted a stylish, very lightweight, everyday fitting trouser with outdoor gear features like windproof, lightweight and quick drying when rained on, plus non-iron. These were what I landed on after a big look around. I've worn them to the exclusion of everything else for the last 5 years and they are still going., every day except 3 summer months in shorts. I'm retired, so use them for daily general wear, excercise walks, DIY gardening and building jobs, everything. I dislike cotton denim. It's too heavy, restricting, not windproof, cold, soggy in damp weather. These solve all that. Being windproof they are never cold. But because of all that usage I have done some maintenance on the way. I'm heavy handed in pockets so had to put a protective wrap on the pocket cuff, but that's all, and denim jeans have the same if not faster wear there. The zips have been faultless. HOWEVER, unlike cotton, the pockets still don't have holes in. Amazingly, there's no threadbare wear anywhere else. After a couple of years I bought another pair to keep for the very occasional "smart" trip out. These are NOT for serious trekking, more a smart everyday trouser. For hiking/scrambling in non-shorts seasons I wear a more robust, warmer and stretchy alternative from the Fjalraven range, but they cost £100 more!!

Don’t know what these negative reviews are about. I have a newer pair with zipper and they’ve performed as they’re suppose to- as a Jean- not as a trekker or hard wearing pant. If you want something more serious go with vidda pro or similar as no they won’t be the most comfortable for trekking hiking or mountaineering.

Bought this pair 3 months ago and had to return them back. Material is OK from the first glance, but sizing is strange. I ordered large, because I already have Karl Pro in size L. When I tried them on, it occurred that waist was very low, thies were too narrow. This model is not intended for any kind of outdoor activities.
